I liked the art style, and happened to pick up the full color version.

I really liked the concept of meeting a person in a dream and eventually that's how we find out this reality isn't quite reality and there are speed highways through people's unconscious. And then we end up in a videogame battle that everyone sees as perfectly normal and reasonable. So clearly this is not the real world, but it takes a nice, slow, interesting path to get there.

The high school relationship was awkward, verging on creepy. The evil ex-boyfriends concept seemed like it would unfold in future volumes.

Scot is a bad person, but in a good way

Oh boy some of this has aged poorly. . . but it's still really funny and well done

I really liked the art style and the behind the scenes stuff at the end. Only thing that was kinda confusing was the whole power system and the subspace-travel thing. It never really gets explained.

Just for the record, this has been on my to-read list forever and I'm not reading it because the movie's about to come out. I swear. That said, the book was super fun, sarcastic and hip and I definitely will see the movie. And read the rest of the series, assuming I can get them from the library.

I’m obsessed with this movie and I’ve wanted to read this forever. Exactly like the movie I wasn’t disappointed

Initial thoughts:

1. Loved the movie = loved the graphic novel.
2. The characters were all hilarious! Especially Kim, Wallace and Young Neil.
3. Scott's a bit immature and gets into precarious situations. That's definitely fun to read about.
4. The dialogue and phrases were amazing and I couldn't stop laughing at times.
5. Enjoyed the artwork. Will definitely continue with this series!

Fun and funny, airy and clever. Jonesing to finish the series at a high rate of speed.
