Oh my gosh! I think out of all the Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy stories, this is my favorite so far! To see Will Herondale alive and well again...it made me feel reminiscent on The Infernal Devices. That peek into the past has made me realize how much I miss that series....and Will. Now I just want to cry because the time period of Tessa and Will is over again. But at least now we have Jem. He needs a bigger role in the upcoming stories.
I loved the spin on the Jack the Ripper tale. It definitely made things interesting and I did not see the the killer being who they were until right at the very end. Creepy!
Five whole stars, but I wish I could give it more.

YAY! TESSA JEM AND WILL! WOOOOOOOO! This was great, I just love these!
“I am Tessa Gray,” she said in a low, clear voice. “And I believe in the importance of stories.”
I LOVED THIS.
Tessa is my all time favourite. I was so happy to see the London Institute crew. Jem/Tessa/Will is magic. Will and Gabriel's banter. Tessa and Cecily working together. And Jessie. I'm overcome with Jessamine feels. :')

Honestly, what is even the point of these? Simon has done absolutely nothing to get closer to becoming an actual shadowhunter in the three novellas I've read. I'm sick of all the other characters who keep stealing the spotlight; this is supposed to be Simon's story. Not Isabelle's, not Jace's, and definitely not Tessa's. This novella was 75% Tessa, 20% Jace, and 5% Simon. It's stupid. It just seems like they're pandering to the fans at this point instead of making decisions that make sense to the story.
The events of this novella could be described in one sentence; Simon utterly fails at climbing trees. That's literally all that happens.
At this point, I highly doubt I'll be reading Lady Midnight, so I don't really know why I'm wasting time and money on these stupid novellas.
The only reason I gave this two stars is because Jem is in it.

Cassandra Clare know how to give you all the feels in less than 100 pages. How?? This installment filled me with all sorts of nostalgia. Basically, the most amazing scene of Jace teaching Simon how to climb a tree happens. Then, Tessa comes to visit the Academy to give the newbies a lesson in good old fashioned cover ups. Flashback to 1888 and we get to see a glimpse into The Infernal Devices crew post-Clockwork Princess. Ugh. This was pure gold. I miss reading about those characters so much. The Last Hours will be so satisfying.
I really enjoyed reading this mini book, as always it took not even 1 hour to read. Cassie has such a way of telling a story. Even a story within a story, which is what this really was. I enjoyed reading about Will again, also enjoyed seeing this new version of Will that we saw little in Infernal Devices. Now that he is a husband & a dad he has become the man that Tessa always saw in him. I'm also glad to see Jace make a guest appearance. That is always a nice treat, both of my favorite Herondale boys in the same book! It couldn't get any better than that! 5 stars!
One word: Ducks. Hands down my favorite of this little series that I've read so far. I love when Maureen Johnson is involved!
And here I insert the fangirl squeeeee!!!! The Whitechapel Fiend is a throw back to Infernal Devices. It was nostalgic and lovely.
THIS ONE HAS WILL HERONDALE IN IT!!!! Absolutely made my day. Good story, and the fact that it contained Will, Tessa, and Jem made it all the better. Little Jamie is so cute with his spoon!
