SPOON!!
Can I just say little James Herondale and his spoon is the cutest thing ever, he was so proud of his spoon.
We get to go back in time in this story when Tessa comes to the academy to tell them a story, which means we got to see the OT3 reunited, Herongraystairs. Always a pleasure. And okay, Will fell asleep at one point and Jem gave him his Silent Brothers robe, just...my heart. Also we got to see Cecily and Gabriel, it was funny how James went to show off his spoon to Gabriel and Will was just like no son you're supposed to attack him!

I loved this story. I loved having a glimpse into 1888- back to Will, Tessa, and Jem. And the kids!
My heart ached for them.
I also loved having Jace in the story. His and Simons exchanges.
Jace finally getting answers from Tessa.
And the story of Jack the Ripper...
Can't wait for #4

Oh my God. This was fantastic. Tessa. Will. Jem. I can't.

This was by far, one of my favourite novellas, ever. It had some amazing time jumps, from today at the Academy to Victorian London, when Tessa recounts to Simon and the students about how she, her husband (Will) and their Jem, as well as Gabriel and Will’s sister Cecily, stopped the Whitechapel murders.
What an amazing twist on the Ripper murders, and I loved the appearances of so many beloved characters! I felt so nostalgic and definitely all the emotions when I was reading this; I didn’t want it to end! The detail that Cassandra Clare and Maureen Johnson wrote in was amazing; this novella had a perfect pacing and I couldn’t get enough! I loved the interactions between each character and I definitely want more – I hope Tessa and Jem appear in other stories too! But these novels honestly cover so many time jumps, it’s amazing. These are perfection so far and definitely are going on my favourites list! They’re everything I was hoping them to be and more! And I loved Jace’s playfulness towards Simon, and Simon’s thoughts on Izzy!
