Frank’s books are hit or miss for me, and it’s safe to say this one was a miss.
I liked the idea of the story, and it could’ve been good.
But two ppl who love each other madly and get a second chance, sure have something to talk about, discuss, or hell, fight about.
None of that happened here. Just a whole lot of fucking. No real conversation was ever had.
Worst thing about the book was the narrative though. It was all he, he, he... so confusingly written that sometimes it wasn’t obvious who was saying/doing what.

No matter how many times I read (or listen) to Finley, it takes me through the wringer.

The book is narrated really well, and I loved hearing the characters I love so much come to life.

I enjoyed this story, although I did actually read Devil's Kiss first so I had already been introduced to Daniel Finley and Brantley Hayes before starting this book. So I new from that story what had happened between the pair although honestly it didn't really effect my enjoyment of this one. As both stories can easily be read as complete standalone's in my opinion and this story was enjoyable to read. It was full of emotion and hot moments and I definitely felt a pull between Finn and Brantley but I must admit to finding them a little frustrating too.

Overall though it was a great read and I certainly would recommend it to others.

5 Finn Stars

Finley is a spin-off of the Temptation series, where we briefly met Daniel Finley. I loved him then and I love him now. Daniel (Finn) moved away from his home 7 years ago and never went back. He's up for partner at his law firm and when he turns thirty he receives a note that had him packing his bags and heading home to the beach. Six words and he was ready to face his past. But, he's not the same man he was all those years ago. He's hardened his heart and he's angry. The one thing he needs to do is face his ex-lover, Brantley. Who was his college professor. He's determined to get him out of his system once and for all so he can go back to Chicago and live his life. He doesn't expect the feelings and emotions that crash into him as soon as he sees Brantley though. Brantley sent the note, but wasn't sure if Finn would respond. When he gets a note of his own, he's shaken. He's aged and Finn was so young and gorgeous. He's nervous and afraid how Finn is going to react. Will Finn's two-week vacation be the closure he's been looking for or will it open another door? Will the love they shared be reignited? I love these two! The passion, the banter and the steam! They've both changed, but it's not all bad. Finn is more forceful and demanding and Brantley quickly realizes he likes being on the receiving end of Finn's orders. This story is and epic second chance romance and it has everything I know and trust from Ella! Love, sex, foreplay, emotions, friendship, humor and family. I can't wait for the next one!

Between the cocksure swaggar, the arrogant eyes, and the commanding tone Daniel used, he was surprised he hadn't lost it the minute the threat of teaching him a lesson has been issued.

The moment was perfect. The man was perfect. And, as the waves continued to crash and thunder like his heart, he thought he could die and have had the most perfect moment of his life.

"No. I'm here because you told me to come home. But we both know I won’t truly be home until I'm back between your sheets, Professor."

Professor Brantley Hayes….. I probably shouldn’t start my review this way, but damn.
He might just be my new favorite person. Not only is he hot as hell, but good lord, I might go to church if he asked me to. And I’m not easily converted, but for this guy, I might dunk my head in some holy water, or a pool, or whiskey. I mean really, does it matter at this point? He could be a nightwalker from Game of Thrones and I’d be like—Yes Sir, please take me to your dark dungeon and turn my eyes blue. Yes Brantley, Please!

OK, moving on…

Daniel, please come home. Please!!
I refuse to ruin the story for anyone, but I will tell you this.
First, read the blurb, because I refuse to retell the story via blurb.

I will say that this AMAZING story is told in past and present tense, third person POV. And I know that some people shy away from third person, but I swear you won’t even notice! Ella is seamless with her words, and so will be your reading experience.

Ahhh to be in Florida again… Finn wants sooooo badly to come home, and he does. He wants to respond to that note. He wants to visit the one place that made him feel like home. Beyond those swaying white curtains, beyond that countertop. Daniel is basically trying to act tough and he’s putting on a front. And….

HAHA!! BURN! I’m not gonna tell you!

YOU MUST BUY TO ENJOY (said in caveman voice)

The side characters in this book will take your heart right along with the main MC’s. They are simply, magnetic. I love reading books that bring my heart close to everyone that I read about. And Ella just gave me some new best book friends, with this book. I LOVE everyone! (ok, maybe not everyone) but you get it.

There was a silent desperation in the fight for love, and a severity in the power to conquer it. Nothing made sense, yet everything MADE sense. The dichotomy of love is what made this book soar above any other, and the simplicity of love is what made it real. Ella, you made me cry again…in the best way.

I am a huge M/M romance fan as well as a fan of this author. With that being said there I went back and forth while reading this book. At the start I was turning page after page waiting to see what happened and then towards the middle I found myself wanting to skim through parts. Then it had an amazing ending. I adore Brantley and Daniel but I lacked the emotional connection that I like to have with characters while I read. The story line was good, but I found it hard to follow the point of view sometimes and found myself getting confused on to who was actually talking. The first part of the book had me on the edge of my seat to see what happened when they were finally reunited. There were some extremely steamy scenes and the emotions were there. Towards the middle I felt like things were missing that should have been there. I felt like i needed to know more of their past in order to follow along. Then towards then end I started to feel the connection between the two and actually teared up a little. A few small fixes to some plot holes and I think this book would be amazing. While this was not my favorite book I would still recommended it.
