I didn’t love this as much as I was expecting. But I do love Amara as a strong independent female protagonist who is morally grey at the best of times. I didn’t agree with all of her actions but I couldn’t help but root for her throughout. I also liked that I didn’t really love any of the other characters besides Dido my sweet angel (wtf Elodie i’ll never forgive you). I’m excited to keep reading Amara’s journey.

This is a book that i carry on to recommend to everyone and anyone. I have converted non mythological readers!
The way this is written just feels totally immersive. I can smell the port, see the fabric chosen for their dressed, feel my way around the festivities. Beautiful- never have i been so fully immersed and I think Elodie Harper for her beautiful words.
The only thing that broke me was waiting for the next book to be released- promptly did i reserve my copy for in a years time <3 and that didnt disappoint either

Loved this book! A different genre than I normally read so I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. The book had some dark themes but it balanced with some touching/ funny moments of friendship between the girls. It was a girl power sort of a book! Can’t wait to read the next one.
