What this book did to me never happened to me before.
I initially came across this story on Youtube when I watched the incredible trailer.
Today on my book hunt, I coincidentally saw it and I immediately bought it.
Since I watched the trailer I had certain expectations that, however, were not fulfilled in the book.
Filled with rage I closed the book in the middle of the story, only to watch the trailer again.
It was then that I realized "the voice" in the book was replaced with the hallucination of Richard in the trailer. A hallucination. He didn't survive.
I was so mad that I already decided to return it.
However, a few minutes after angrily starring at the book I made the decision to read on.
Needless to say, throughout this story, it felt like my eyes were trying to compete with the Niagara Falls.
It's not the way it was written or the words that have been chosen.
It's just the fact that something like this is real. And that this story really happened to a human being.
To those two human beings.

Het is fijn om te lezen hoe ze overleefde op zee na de orkaan. Maar het is volledig anders dan de film, en dat was de reden waarom ik heb gekocht heb.

Such an emotional story of survival at sea. I kept hoping that maybe she would find Richard, and then I realised that there was just no way he could have survived that. I could not put this book down, it was intense and I just had to find out what happened. Such an inspirational story. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Title: Adrift
Author: Tami Oldham Ashcraft
Pages: 230
My Rating: 4/5

I'm not a big lover of fiction books/biographies/autobiographies and usually only read ones that are Historical. However as this has been turned into a film it definatley caught my interest.

I'm glad I picked this up and gave it a go! Tami was straight to the point throughout, her story was easy to follow and kept you gripped from start to finish.

I genuinley felt her emotions throughout- not the extent she had of course! I felt saddened by her loss but how she carried on was truly inspirational and amazing.

It was nice to see a female kicking butt and coming through something so traumatic on her own! It is evident that Tami is a very clever women!

Credit to her for all that she overcome and for surviving one of my worst nightmares!
