This book, it’s hard to say much without spoilers, and I don’t wanna ruin this amazing story. It is a true story which added to this, but it was wonderful, I found myself rooting for them the whole way.
I recommend this if your looking for a good love story, something true. Grab your tissues, you will definitely need them, even after your done reading.

After watching the movie, I had to read the book. It was just as good as the movie, though a bit different, as it usually is. After Tami and Richard get caught in a hurricane while sailing a boat to its home port, the boat is destroyed and Richard is missing. Tami, on her own, had to steer the heavily damaged boat in hopes of finding land. I can't believe the strength that Tami had to survive the ordeal. I would definitely recommend this read if you are into disaster or sailings books.

This book made my heart ache in a way I didn't even know it could.
After seeing the movie I wanted some more information about the courage of this woman sailor. It's told a bit differently than the movie showed but I did get more information after where the movie ended. Really enjoyed the telling
I have mixed feelings...
I’ll begin by saying I think you need to have a different kind if lens if you’re going to critique how someone presents their personal story. It’s theirs, so the word choice, the emotion conveyed, I feel is out of bounds for criticism. I think it is fair to say when the structure of the telling could be better.
Because she was adrift for such a long time, it seemed to make sense that the book was partitioned into her time after the storm and her past getting into sailing, and previous trips. But sometimes it gave me an eye-rolling, “here we go again,” feeling, when the reminiscing took up again.
You’d never wish anyone the plight of being lost at sea, but Tami was a very experienced sailor, and she also knew the basics of navigating without electronics. That, combined with the (limited, but not scant) amount of provisions on board, meant the majority of the distress after the initial recovery was emotional. Again, completely makes sense in light of the situation.
About 70% of the story is before the storm (historical recollection/flashbacks), 20% is after rescue, and 10% is the drifting period.
Adrift might be a bad title, because she, again, was able to plot her navigation and still travel, despite the loss of a few major sails. Unless it’s more connected to her emotional distress and recovery afterward. (Shrug).
I may give the movie a go after reading this, because I have to say... the trailers have made it appear that they went a completely different way with the main inciting incident.

At first, I had some trouble getting into this book. But after a certain point, I didn't want to put it down.
Cudowna, pokrzepiająca opowieść, wstrząsająca i poruszająca tym bardziej, że jest autentyczna
