I love that this is a combination of the stereotypical fantasy book where the good guys have powers and fight demons, but there is also an added Percy Jackson element, of them being the offspring of the Greek Gods and Goddesses. It’s a good combo, I’m excited to see where it goes next.

I mean... it was ok. Not very original or unpredictable.
The characters are very early 2010's American tv shows, easily prone to ridiculous responses to a scenario where a simple solution would have been more effective... those kinda shows.
I finished it, I don't really remember what happened.

3.8🌟
Ambos chicos me encantan

The beginning was alright and was a solid three stars but then the plot started to go nowhere really even though we were past halfway through? The writing is really basic and cringey like how I would write if I were an author and I have no experience. Alex has her few witty moments but her priorities are all over the place and overall I thought she was weak for a protagonist. Honestly I didn't really care for any of the characters or their (lack of) chemistry. Caleb was a good friend though. The idea of the story itself isn't really original either but it can still be executed well and I have seen other books do a good take on the demon slaying plot. Also felt like the background of the characters and their world was very loosely talked about. Given this is the first book of series they would probably delve into more of that but it doesn't even keep my interest to continue. Overall this was just bland af, it got so painful trying to finish the book but at least the ending started getting a little better.
Idk how I feel about this being my second JLA book in two different genres and they were both bad. I'm constantly hearing praise about the author but idk I have one more book of hers that I will still check out.

I did enjoy it and I picked up the second book immediately . The reason I don't give it a 4 or a 5 is because I felt like the book dragged in some areas and it filled it up with long descriptions . I usually don't have high hopes for first books , and this rang true for this one . I do think it's a quick good read , with and interesting take on the supernatural . And It definitely left me wanting more . I intend on continuing the series and see where it takes the story.
