This wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be after reading the short prequel. It’s definitely predictable if you’ve read a lot of the genre (which I did circa Twilight era), and a lot of cheesy too, with that annoying hormone filled FMC. Also, as someone mentioned, 2/3 of the book do feel like a ripoff of the first book of Vampire Academy. Still, I was entertained and enjoyed it more than expected, and honestly I am diving right into the next one 😅

wow. this book was phenomenal. i want to write a real review, i've yet to do that on here, so it may contain spoilers. alright, first i would like to say that i absolutely love Jennifer Armentrout. i read Obsidian and fell in love with the story, the characters, and the way Armentrout makes you feel for the story. it was amazing, which was why i didn't really want to read this book. i thought that it was to much of a story line, she was creating a whole new world which is hard and takes me a lot to get into. i didn't think that anything could compete with Obsidian, but i was so wrong. this book is waaaay up there. it wasn't just a new world, it played off things i've learned and knew. i've always loved Greek mythology and it was an interesting take on the legends that i already knew. i would also like to say that this book was NOTHING like Vampire Academy. i had seen some reviews that was suggesting that the story line was to similar, and yes some things are parallel, but i've read a ton of books where a girl needs a trainer and falls in love with him. not just Vampire Academy, so really you have to compare it to all books similar to VA. also in this book the love is forbidden which makes it that much hotter/frustrating. next i would like to say that i love Aiden. in fact i love all of the characters. but i am really hoping that Aiden and Alex can be together. i'm not a big fan of love triangles, but Seth isn't that bad. i want Alex to be happy! i'm such a sap. i am really excited for the next book and i hope Alex can live in peace (with Aiden) with what she is. i can't wait to read more!

This was a really good YA read.  It is disturbingly similar to Vampire Academy but with Greek gods,  mortals, and half blood.  Despite that fact,  I've  enjoyed it and will eargerly pick up the next book.
