This was such a cute story with humour, warmth, and with a great plot and writing. Will and Lexi had amazing chemistry and their meet cute was awkwardly funny. He was absolutely enamoured by Lexi from the moment he first saw her. The balance between the heavier topics and romance was done really well.
Lexi is a hard working and loyal daughter to her mother, who has been struggling through grief for a few years. She’s also super smart but with her insecurities and her own grief, she doesn’t allow herself to be happy and have fun. Will is a supportive, kind, and patient man, with a passion for doing what’s best for his family company. I really liked that throughout the book, Will tries to bring Lexi out of her comfort zone and slowly eases her out of her insecurity about not being good enough. Him being patient with her every step of the way was beautiful. I also really loved all the sweet and tender moments between Lexi and Will, they had me smiling throughout.
And the side characters! They were amazing! I loved Lexi’s best friend, Maisie, who is so supportive and always there for Lexi. And Will’s sisters were so charmingly funny and loyal. I loved them! I would really like to see a book about Maisie and Ethan! These characters were so relatable and real, and were such a joy to read about.
Overall, such a feel good romcom! Apple picking, beer tasting, Halloween party and crisp weather checked all the boxes for radiating cozy autumnal vibes with an absolutely perfect ending! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.

This book is a cute love story from the start. Lexi is relatable and funny from the start - a waitress with no experience just trying to do what she can for a few extra bucks to take care of her mother ends up in a bit of a pickle when her high school friends show up at her job. Will, a knight who happens to be there to help Lexi in any way, saves the day with his smooth talking and general goodness. He fell for her right from the jump, and it was cute to watch him grow into these feelings. They were exactly what the other person needed. Between the funny and endearing moments, it was as if a few walls were broken down in this book. I enjoyed watching these characters grow through their fake engagement and develop into true love.

This book was so good! I really loved the romance so much and how it all unfolded! Fake engagement and family drama! The discovery that you are enough and you’re the only one judging yourself! I really loved the journey of the main character! Also, Will is new book boyfriend to the max
Alright, I guess this will be my last Sophie Sullivan book. I had a not so great experience with Ten rules for faking it (aka I completely forgot about it, to the point her name didn't even sound familiar and maybe that realisation should've told me something), but I usually try to read more books before "blacklisting" an author.
Can't help falling in love sounded so good, but in reality, I found it very hard to get into. The fmc was very childish, she pretty much had no chemistry with the mmc and she kept getting on my nerves. The way the whole fake dating/fake engagement started made no sense, there really wasn't any reason for them to keep the charade up in the beginning but whatever.

medium-paced
After her father dies unexpectedly, Lexi puts her college dreams on hold to pay off his debts and help her grieving mother keep their house. Working two jobs while taking online classes, Lexi’s life is ever so slowly getting back on track when she accidentally gets fake engaged to Seattle’s most eligible bachelor. Always the pragmatist, can Lexi finally ignore what her brain is telling her and finally listen to her heart?
This low-on-drama, high-on-romance romcom had me rooting for the fairytale all the way through. There were enough obstacles to make it interesting but not so much that it got annoying. It was just the palate cleanser I needed during my spooky readathon this month.

The perfect cozy fall read for those that enjoy fall activities, lots of tension filled fake-dating romance and family drama!
Lexi and Will might have began things on a lie, but the feelings were so real right from the beginning!
I loved the way this story dealt with the topic of grief, which hits everyone differently, and was portrayed in such a relatable way. I loved getting to see Lexi and her mom don’t just get over the loss of her father, they get a chance in this story to grow and learn how to move forward in their own ways.
I’m sure some readers may find Lexi to be taxing sometimes with her self doubt, but I think that’s why I loved Will so much, he saw from the very beginning just how special Lexi was, and loved seeing him navigate his own family drama while realizing that this fake relationship might just be the best thing that ever happened to him!
All of the side characters in this story also were great, I wasn’t a fan of the high school friends until the very end and I was honestly glad that side stories didn’t just get dropped or at all mended by the end. I loved the way the author ended this story, especially giving us an epilogue because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye just yet to these characters!
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet rom com with fall vibes!

I really enjoyed this book! it gave me warm fuzzies inside, and I had a great time following Will and Lexi's story❤️
the plot was fairly low stakes and forgettable, so I'm not sure that I'll think about it forever and ever for years to come, but it brought me joy and peace, and I appreciate that

Lexi is a horrible waitress and when some former classmates show up to her work, she sits down at Will's table and pretends they are dating. Will amused by her and is willing to help her out, but then realizes they just might be able to help each other out. He needs to appear more serious when working on a family merger. He isn't too keen on the one who they are courting to partner with due to the partying son making headlines for his partying, and making his own meeting to prove he can make good decisions for the business.
Lexi is helping her mother through her grief, and trying to get her to leave the house, which isn't often. This was a sire spot for me and I didn't like some of the wording there. Three years is not a long time in terms of grief. Moving forward is better than saying move on.
Lexi trying to find her footing after no longer being the big deal track star and not in the place she thought she would be in her life was relatable and real. She was working had to pivot while working two jobs and going to school. The romance was a slow burn but their friendship and flirty was sweet and easy.
I received an arc for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.
