This book was okay. It was a cute romance, but I didn't feel much connection to the characters. It seemed to lack depth, even though there were some big themes covered. I was pretty bored after a while. The business/socialite scene didn't seem realistic (and Grand Babies is such a weird name!).

Nothing ground breaking here, but some perfect Fall vibes including apple picking, Halloween parties and chilly autumn air and really likeable characters.
The main characters fell a bit fast, but if the alternative is one character being an ass to the other for half the book I'll take it!
Will was sweet, her friends were great and Lexi felt very human in her struggles.
If you're looking for a Fall romance that won't have you tearing you're hair out in frustration I'd highly recommend!

Both of the main characters were annoying. Lexi was so ditzy and her not being able to handle serving was obnoxious. And her not being able to let go of her high school personality after 7 years is so childish. And then Will is like oh I am so fancy but I'm not like other guys, and I ma so taken by this girl who is so bad at her job. I can't listen to an entire book from them.

It was cute, did not find the climax of the story very thrilling so if you’re wanting a chill read definitely read this.

I absolutely ADORED this story! For one the fake engagement trope I eat up every time because I just love seeing the main characters fall in love whilst faking to the world that they already are in love. Will and Lexi's relationship was great to see develop over time and I loved how Will fell so hard for her fast. I also loved the side characters in this story, especially Gwen's storyline. Being able to watch her overcome her grief in such a realistic manner was inspiring. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this book for everyone who enjoys cozy romances!
Thank you NetGalley and St Martins Press for providing me a digital copy of this book for my honest review.

Can’t Help Falling in Love by Sophie Sullivan is a cute fake dating clean romance with just the right amount of fall vibes. It’s very much a low stakes, feel good story, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. The romance was sweet, the setup was fun, and it kept me smiling while I read.
It’s also a pretty quick read, I finished it in about six hours so it’s perfect if you’re looking for something light and cozy to curl up with in one sitting. Nothing overly dramatic, just an enjoyable, heartwarming romance that hits the spot.

This is a flirty rom-com about a struggling waitress and a Seattle heir who get swept into a fake engagement while juggling their own complicated lives. It’s meant to be cozy, lighthearted, and full of fall charm.
While the premise had all the right ingredients, the execution left me a little disappointed. The title, cover, and blurb promised a seasonal, autumn-filled romance, but the fall vibe was barely present outside of coats, a few chilly settings, and passing mentions of seasonal events. I also found the emotional climax underwhelming. There were so many opportunities for their fake engagement to spiral into drama or for the stakes to really pay off, but the story sidestepped those possibilities. By the time the third-act breakup arrived, it didn’t feel as resonant or impactful as it could have.
Overall, this was a cute story, but it didn’t quite live up to its seasonal promise or its emotional potential. I’d recommend it to readers who want a lighter, low-drama fake engagement rom-com and don’t mind if the fall vibes are only lightly sprinkled in.

DNF at 65%. I really tried to make it through this one. There were lots of things I tried to overlook like the no ring thing, Lexi's influencer "friend" not having any idea who the most eligible bachelor in their city was, the various pronunciations of "romance" by the narrator, and a few more. The fake relationship trope is normally one of my go-to tropes, but this one wasn't for me.
