This book was sassy and fun. I really enjoyed how fast this book read and the character development in such a short work. I have read where authors have done less development in 400+ pages. I will definitely be reading the next two.

The perfect start to a light hearted witchy romcom series, Witches Get Stuff Done brings Riley Everett to Starfall Island hoping to make a connection with her aunt, the last remaining relative on her mother’s side. The ferry to the island provides a meet cute that is more motifying than cute when Riley confronts Eddison for selfishly occupying the only working restroom on the ferry. Although their interaction is beyond awkward, the spark of attraction is obvious. This scene also introduces Alice, manager of the local antique store, who becomes one of Riley’s best friends.

This book is full of unique and quirky characters, including the spectral butler of Shadow House, which Riley finds herself responsible for upon learning that her aunt recently passed. She feels totally unprepared for the mission which her aunt left to her, but receives help from Alice and Caroline as they fumble through their new friendship and form a coven, and island librarian, Eddison, whose love for learning and obsession for keeping Riley safe, make him a strong ally. I never considered how difficult it would be for a couple to find privacy when the house, and a good portion of the town, is haunted by ghosts!

The performances by Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton brought the characters and story to life. I’m always amazed at their ability to create such unique voices for each character. They are both so talented!

This book is perfect for the fall witchy season, or anytime!
