I loved this book! The characters are damaged and you felt every bit of it!
I really liked this book. Sure it was a little implausible at some points, but it was easy to over look because the story was so gripping, raw and gritty. As an added bonus, the main characters actually had believable reactions to plausible situations, as opposed to manufactured drama.

This was the story of Jay and Charlee. When they first meet Jay is performing a show in St. Louis with his band, The Burn. Jay happens to go to a tattoo shop while there that is ran by Charlee who is closing up for the evening but after a bit or begging and paying twenty bucks he gets an hours worth of tattoo. However what happens after that is a crazy whirlwind of a ride.
It is a dark romance and not for the faint of heart but amazingly done and I enjoyed it overall. It is on the lengthy side so it does take awhile to finish but it was well written and worth the read. I would recommend this one to others.

I had to force myself to finish this book. I'd hoped it would end my reading slump, not contribute. Alas, I felt nothing for this couple. I didn't sympathize with them over their trauma, nor did I tolerate their B.S. well. And they had some serious B.S. between them.
The most likable character is Nathan, the protector, and that's pretty messed up considering he's a side character.
Still, I'm partly blaming my current bad attitude for some of my animosity towards this book. It is still Pam Godwin, afterall. I get what she was trying to do, but this one just missed the mark for me.

A perfect combination of darkness, light and love. This is a story of one woman and two men that has obsession pitted against devotion. It's in the survival of one that Charlee finds the strength and serenity to accept the other. Pam Godwin delivers another impeccably balanced and intricately woven story of survival, strength and emotion. That this was one of her earlier works amazes me. It's definitely one of her best.
