Terry Pratchett is clever and delightful as always, and Sam Vimes remains my favorite character in the entire Discworld.

Terry Pratchett was a genius and the Discworld is a masterpiece. Just… every one that I read is so hilarious but also at the same time so wise and profound. These books are ridiculous but they make you think deeply and critically about everything.

The worst of the City Watch sub-series and still easily in the top 10 of Discworld so far!
Whilst I did find it irritating how many of the sub plots are ultima ely irrelevant and dropped for hundreds of pages at a time (Gasopode, the remaining watch, or the Angua/Carrot relationship drama), the main core plot is a lot of fun and gives us further insight into the different sub cultures and other countries of Discworld! It's not directly taking shots at any one thing in it's satire either but it still has so much wonderfully charming humour and political angst!

Who doesn't love Terry Pratchett? He's going to show up a lot. If you like the character Sam Vimes, you need to read this. This book is a great mystery, of sorts. It's very amusing & entertaing. But to expect anything less from Sir Terry would be illogical.
