This was a very fun sequel. The writing isn't complicated, the ideas sound a little "out there" and you would think it wouldn't work, but I was completely sucked in, completely believed that everything that was written could happen and didn't want to put the book down until it was completed. I really can't ask for more from a reading experience.

This was a nice enough read, but lacked some of the magical feeling of the first book that made that story so special.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dragon Slippers, but this seuqel failed to hold my interest as completely. It was fun to read more about Creel's world and dig deeper into the characters, and the plot had plenty of action and excitement. It's a well-done book in every aspect, and I would recommend it to anyone who liked the first one; I just think I might have been more engrossed in this if I'd read it two or three years ago, before I started delving so much into adult fantasy. Nonetheless, a solid story and a worthy sequel. Jessica Day George is a creative author, and I've liked each of her books I've read thus far.

A brilliant and entertaining read. The author mentions at the end that she never planned on this sequel. I’m sure I’m not the only one glad that she eventually did write one. It’s just as charming as the first. I love Creel, she makes a wonderful heroine, and I love her relationship with the dragons.

The cover artwork is simply gorgeous, but I was also a little confused about the characters ages. I read somewhere that the characters are in their late teens, but they look about 12-14 years old on the cover. Throughout the book I had moments where I wasn’t sure what age the story was targeted towards. But that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of it. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the next book. The dragons have been through a lot, being forced to participate in wars, I hope they find some well-earned peace in the end.

I really enjoy reading about Creel. She's a great strong heroine and the adventure is engaging without being too graphic (not always great in a j book, but this one is spot on)
