Looks nice on a shelf & fun to pick up and read one or two entries, but I'm not sure how accurate some of the anecdotes were.

I felt like I was being read a sassy Wikipedia article which is exactly what I was looking for.

As expected there was a lot of information in this book, and some of that information stuck. I didn't love the "wicked" element that resulted in the author making things sound more dramatic than I would like in an informative text.
Probably adding to my lower rating of this book is that I listened to it. I am not sure if there were pictures which surely would have added enjoyment. Also, the reader had a less-exaggerated Moira Rose pronunciation, so that was both humorous and occasionally irritating.

Perfect for the O.W.L.S, read this for the Herbology challenge. Read a book with plants on the cover!

I thought this was going to be a story along the lines of Michael Pollen, but this was basically a field guide with less pictures.
