Well I must say that I am a bit disappointed in the final book. It seems as though so many loose ends remain. I've never understood why an author has to retell parts of the characters story from the first book. I still liked Lane, and unfortunately I continued to not like Lizzie, I was however surprised by my liking of Gin. And sure enough, Miss Aurora had me in tears again. Again there were so many predictable moments and I still don't believe the person responsible for Williams death is the one who did it, I don't believe the storyline of Little VE either. Gin and Samuel T were my favorite couple by far.

Part of the joys of going through a blind bargain box of books is trying new genres and authors. So I'm glad I tried this one, but this soap opera style storytelling with all the repetitions, bloated descriptions and family drama is not my cup of tea.

5 stars. Best book in the trilogy, hands down. This ended exactly how I wanted it to and then some. It was pretty much perfect.

Thinking about how this series started out to how it ends is like night and day for me. While I did thoroughly enjoy The Bourbon Kings it was incredibly cheesy and over the top so I was prepared for the rest of the series to continue on that way. Boy, was I ever wrong. It gets a lot deeper than that. So much deeper.

This book picks up right where the second book ends with that blockbuster cliffhanger and I was instantly hooked. I thought the beginning to the first two books were a bit slow paced but this one definitely didn’t have that problem for me. I absolutely flew through this and I could not put it down. I needed to know how everything was going to wrap up and I couldn’t pace myself.

The characters all go through such wonderful development especially Gin and I’m just so happy how everything wrapped up for everyone. I can’t even say anything really because I don’t want to give anything away but the ending is great.

I definitely recommend this series if you love a good drama filled read. Also, because it’s J.R. Ward and she is my new Queen. I still have my fingers crossed that this series gets adapted into a television series or something, it'd be perfect.

Given it was a three-part series there was a lot of VERY quick tying up. It was all pretty predictable. That said, I really enjoy the story. There is rumor they will turn this into a series which I think I would like - very dynasty feeling. Enjoyed it for sure

How do you categorize this delicious as a sip of bourbon series? I've done my best. This story (3 books) has run away with my heart. I want to go to the distillery, I want to see the house, I want everything in this story to come into view for me. Seriously, it doesn't get much better than the telling of a J.R. Ward series.

The truth is revealed in this final of the series, and as everyone races to figure it out, and to help Edward get out of jail for a crime he didn't commit, there will be love. You are inexorably drawn into the story, and escape you will not.

I saw it through to the end, eventually, but I'm glad it's over.
