LOVED. Genuinely one of the best psychological thrillers/dramas I’ve read in SO long. Loved the writing and it was paced incredibly well! And to see all of the changes that Sayers goes through during and after the trauma was so heart wrenching. And Penny and Evan

Reading A List of Cages was all I needed to know for certain that I’ll read and love anything Roe writes—I knew I loved this story before I ever touched it. This book is dark, gripping, and crushing across so many pages.
But like Sayers, keep going. The light and hope and love found in the middle of so much trauma makes this one of the best YA novels I’ve read in years. Roe reminds us that we can always try to be better than we were, and we can help others try too.
It’s so easy to see the years of love and grit poured into these pages. 12/10 recommend to anyone.

Ok I actually did not expect to like this book THIS much. It got to a point where I just couldn’t put it down and go to sleep. The pacing is fantastic and there are some really good characters in here (love u Evan), plus it is pretty creepy at times. It’s clear that the focus is on the psychology of the event, not aiming for scares, and it’s so horrific that it just ends up being scary sometimes as a byproduct.
Story took forever to get started, then forever to get interesting but became a drag again quickly afterwards. Its just a slog.
Impossible to put down! Robin Roe did it again!! Dark Room Etiquette is a story of a teen with wealth and no consequences. Kidnapped and forced to survive he develops Stockholm Syndrome and can find his way back to what’s real. Making amends and healing take time but the novel ends hopeful and strong.
