Me reading Tweet Cute: a girl, cheesin’ ;)

I LOVE this book!!! I also love a complicated family and boy oh boy have we got some complicated family dynamics. Pepper’s mom is complex and makes a lot of bad choices and I think that is actually great representation.

The audio book was top notch.

All right y'all, put your seatbelts on because as I'm writing this review, I still have absolutely no idea how to rate it.

We'll start with things I liked (minor spoilers ahead!):

There were twins. I absolutely LOVE twins. Or triplets. Or quadruplets. Doesn't matter. Jack and Ethan were depicted so great as rival siblings and I ate that up. And the detail that Pepper could tell them apart from the start was so amazing.
It was such a lighthearted, feel-good, CUTE book that made me giggle, kick my feet, and feel butterflies, just so sweet and loveable.
There was this message of how toxic the school system is and how our grades don't define our worth, how we don't always need college, and the realization of how Pepper kind of destroyed her teenage years worrying about every single grade was wonderful.
Jack. The way I love this man - He is just perfect.
This was probably the cleanest romance/contemporary I have ever read and that deserves a big thumbs up.

What I didn't like:

Their parents. These kids have terrible parents. I especially hated Pepper's mom, like she was so toxic???
I was told this was enemies to lovers, Romeo and Juliet retelling or something and I was DECEIVED. They didn't hate each other for a single second. Jack literally says he wants her attention in his first POV. Just because he says she's a robot or whatever doesn't mean he hates her. It means he has a crush on her, duh. And then when they get mad at each other over the twitter thing, I was full of hope, okay, now it starts, it gets good. Spoiler: It did not get good. After 10 pages, they were literally okay. Every time they fought because of something (and their fights were valid) they were cool a few pages later. You can't figure out someone's secret that involves you and be okay with it instantly. They needed time to process it and not talk to each other.
Did I mention their parents? Truly awful. And Jack's dad too.
While we're at it Ethan?? Excuse me?? This boy was getting on my last nerve. Neglecting his responsibilities, making chaos, and being responsible for half of Pepperjack's fights.
Maybe unpopular opinion but I didn't like the end? It was kind of weird and there were too many people that weren't even friends in that book.
The overall enjoyment. Except for loving their relationship, I barely felt anything. The plot was a bit boring and the tweets were dry and underwhelming.

In summary, read it if you want to feel like love is not dead, if you want to read about teenagers finally taking risks and maturing or if you ship ladynoir (I had to think about them every time, their dynamic was so similar to Pepperjack).

3.25 or 3.5 stars, I'm sure I'll change it over time.

Let me just say that Emma Lord is quickly becoming one of my favorite YA authors! Her books are very fun and full of heart, and I just know that I would've eaten these books up back in my YA days.

Tweet Cute, in particular, was just so dang cute! I absolutely adored the premise and all of the immaculate You've Got Mail vibes. Pepper and Jack were such fun and relatable protagonists, and I was rooting for both of them from page one. They were both so well rounded, and I loved getting to know both of them--their hopes and dreams and fears--and watching their relationship transform throughout the story.

And honestly, that's all I really have to say! If you're looking for some light and just plain adorable YA romance, look no further. This is the book for you!
