Good book, my brain and emotions were making this one a very tough and changing read. Well worth the effort to finish though.

A must-read for every adoptive or foster parent, but beneficial to any parent or person who works with children. Lots of practical advice with research to back it up. If you have a chance to see Karyn Purvis at an Empowered to Connect conference I highly recommend it!

This was a fantastic book for understanding and empathizing with the needs of traumatized children. While the focus is adoption, these strategies and perspectives apply to any child who has been through trauma and attachment losses. I believe anyone working with children in tough places should read this book!

A must read for anyone fostering, adopting, or whose child had trauma in the womb, at birth, or after. Purvis is a wealth of knowledge, and there are so many practical tips to help on the journey to restoration in your home and lives of your children.
This is also a great read for teacher, caregivers, or anyone working with children on a regular basis. Not all child minds are created equal.

Read this for work, but so informative. Even just for my own parenting.

After the generally dark tone of Adopting the Hurt Child, this book was exactly what I was needed. It kept saying, "Yes, this will be tough," and "Yes, you'll be fine," and "Yes, your child will be precious."

All of that wrapped with, you're going to want to think about and try these things.
