It's a great book albeit old. Some situations may be outdated and wouldn't necessarily apply today. Overall, it provides wonderful insights about building confidence and good habits, and tips on how to achieve your goals. Schwartz is always direct to the point and he uses a professional tone. The content is well-researched—numbers are presented to back up whatever he's discussing. Most importantly, it doesn't feel like he's going on and on about his ideas but he actually incorporates other people's experiences as examples.

There are various action plans and mini-tasks that serve as a good break from the lengthy paragraphs.

The book throws light on the thinking process, our attitudes and behaviours, in terms of how to lead a superb life and professional success. It consists various topics, such as thinking, creativity, ideas, health, friendship and so forth.
.
The author suggest that our thinking and belief play a big part in our success and achievements. He says, "Belief, strong belief triggers the mind to figure ways and means and how-to."
.
Also, he introduces a term called, Excusitis. By which he means, A disease to hide behind your excuese. Interestingly if we pay attention then we see that it's very common in people.
.
For relationships, he says, "Add values to people, use positive language and give genuine compliments." And many more things.
.
One thing I specially liked about the book is that not only he talks about thinking but he clearly states that only positive thinking is not enough. In order to achieve success and respect, we have to act. He says actions decides what we get in life.
.
Although, few times (only few times) I saw the repetitiveness of the topics. But what makes this book special is that it has hundreds of practical ideas to make your life amazing and they are really applicable. There is so many lessons that I've highlighted on every page and my notepad was filled.
.
Overall I really liked this book, and I believe It's one of my favourite reads of 2020. So I suggest everyone to read this book at least once.

Amazing...

I first heard of this book on the Tim Ferris Podcast and made a mental note that it was a must-read. What I didn't realize was how much this book was going to affect my life. It was mind altering, with very simple advice capable of producing life-altering results.

Moving forward, this will always be my go to recommendation for mindset, motivation, and self-development, or for any young person looking for something to help ignite a fire within themselves.

It inspired a 2,000 word blog post that I did for the Outwork Book Club, see it at

I wrote about things I learned specifically from the book, like using the Action Principle to conquer fear. Schwartz offers this piece of simple advice: Isolate your fear, then take action...

Amazing...

Though this is an old book, and quite targeted towards men, I found a lot of the advice to be very solid and helpful and it really did make me rethink the way I think and see the world.

I think every person should read to make an effective life with a goal. Life without learning is valueless. The best thing I learned from it is "A man thinks he can and a man thinks he can not - both are right. This book influenced me in a deep level.
