Another enjoyable adventure with the irrepressible Amelia Peabody. This one is set in London rather than Egypt, but still involves mummies, curses, hieroglyphics and other things Egyptian.
I missed the Egypt setting for this one and didn't love aspects of the plot as much, but the ending was really good.

Not my favorite of the Amelia Peabody stories, but entertaining none-the-less. Things just aren’t as entertaining when they are in England instead of Egypt, and I felt frustrated with Ramses’ cousins and all they got away with.
3.5 stars. These books crack me up, they really do. It's utter silliness from start to finish, and even when it's utterly predictable, it's still a lot of fun. This one lost a little something for me in that it's set in London instead of Egypt which meant we were deprived of a lot of fabulous characters and settings blah blah blah. Instead, we had Amelia's niece and nephew, who were some of the most obnoxious little shits to ever grace the page.
It's still a lot of fun, and I love how ridiculous Amelia can be without realising it. But this wasn't one of the better books for me.
