What a fun silly book. I loved the characters. Just a couple of thicc sexy sweet bisexuals having SO MUCH sex. This is right up there with most sex I’ve read in a traditional romance novel. And it was varied and fun! Would absolutely recommend. My only critiques are 1) how easy everything was despite the seemingly high stakes for Mason’s family stuff 2) they had maybe three actual conversations? I was definitely rooting for them but I think the book could have been a tiny bit longer to add a bit more dialogue in between some of the sex scenes 3) it was kinda soulmatey, which isn’t my jam but was still cute because I really enjoyed the couple.

I made the mistake of pausing the audiobook in the middle of the pegging scene, and it took a few weeks to find a good moment to just straight into that, but once I did I finished the rest of the book very quickly.

Xeni is a delightfully cozy and affirming queer interracial romance. There's a lot of emotional angst, but there's just as much sex and food scenes. dogs. a diverse, accepting community (that heavily involves characters from other Weatherspoon romances, although this only adds value for those who've read those books; for readers who haven't read her wider catalog, the story is still easy to understand). Two MCs who are delightfully confident in their own physical attractiveness, and open to their physical attraction to each other. Some unexpected but well-written kink.  And the financial stability that comes with an enormous inheritance.  I was honestly not sure how the romance would work out, so maybe it was less cozy than I remember, but the ending was satisfying and believable, and the overall story was enjoyable.  How could I expect anything else from Rebekah Weatherspoon? #23for23

This is a cool contemporary, very very modern romance book. I totally loved the take this whole book had. I listened to this as an audiobook which might be why I was uncomfortable by parts of the book. Rebekah did a great job at giving us relatable characters. Xeni is a Los Angeles school teacher and she’s got a relatable personality. She’s slightly more confident than your average woman but honestly I think she was written that way so that things in the book wouldn’t be so awkward.  For my taste this was a little bit too straight forward in terms of spice. I did like it, but it was very modern and different to what I’m used to reading. Also the narration was by a man portraying Xeni and I think that might’ve been what made me feel awkward. I think this is a great book to read considering this is how most things happen in the era we’re living in. Definitely not like the traditional courting we’re used to when we’re in search of a partner. Definitely an 18+ book. I also want to warn that there are lgbtq+ elements but this is about a relationship between a bisexual man and besexual woman.

I read Rafe a while back and I enjoyed it so when I saw this spin-off I immediately started reading it. It just took me some time to finish (I forgot I was reading it, was in slump), but this was actually rlly cute. I am now a Rebekah Weatherspoon fan.

The main characters are so sweet and they're so genuine to each other, it rlly made me happy.

If ur skimming reviews to check whether or not to read this book, I am here to tell you that yes, u should read it rn.

This romance is immaculate. A marriage of convenience between a bisexual Black witch and a bisexual plus size white Scotsman. This is one of those romances that feels super tropey and fun, but has a complex and engaging plot. I enjoyed every single minute reading this book.
