3.5/5 stars - I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. Why the sad ending? Why the heartbreak? How do you even write a review on that? However, I LOVED the father/daughter issues in this book and how she grew as a person throughout the book with it. Overall, a good book. But again...the sadness?! WHY!

Too schmaltzy for me. Ended way too fast once the “twist” was revealed, too many things left untied. The main character Evie was a total brat and by the end was only *sort of* a brat?
This had an interesting concept, but the execution was wayyyyy off.

This was narrated by one of my favorites ... Bahni Turpin.
I was a wee bit disappointed by the main character and how hard it was to convince her of her "lesson".

Her soles squeaked on the well worn hardwood floor as she mirrored the steps of the instructors in front of her. The music swirled around her and she tried to let the beat take her someplace different.
Instructions for Dancing is a YA romance following Yvette. Yvette doesn’t believe in love anymore after her parents split, but soon finds herself seeing other couples’ love stories unfold in visions when she witnesses them kiss.
This story was cute and I liked seeing Xavier and Yvette’s story unfold. Loved the magical realism aspect and all of the dancing. While it wasn’t my favorite of Nicola Yoon’s stories, I still found it sweet and heartwarming… a bit emotional toward the end.
