nicola yoon has done it again and written another book i absolutely adore. i read this all in about one sitting which was about 5 hours. i just couldn’t stop reading it.

this book is about allowing yourself to live and love in the present moment. even if a relationship—romantic, platonic, etc—ends in heartbreak, you should treasure the time you have with them now. instructions for dancing made me tear up more than once but i think this is one of the books i’ll carry inside of me for a long time.

I was very apprehensive of the book in the first third of it. I was gonna give it a lower rating than I did, but the last two thirds of the book hit me hard. It was an emotional roller coaster that I couldn’t get enough of. The only thing I wish would’ve been different is how the relationship between X and Evie played out in the beginning, but other than that this book was a good read.

This book was so cute and more. I’ve had this book on my shelf for years now and I decided to pick it up just to see what it was about. It was a book of the month pick. It did take me a minute to get into the book because I felt like it was atmospheric and or fluffy for me. But as I kept reading the story started to pick up.

Sooo I'm pissed by the ending and I felt like blindsided. I love a HEA and this definitely missed the mark for me.
I also felt like the sister should've been told the whole story and the dad and his mistress should've faced some consequences. I guess I'm just not a forgiving person because I could never accept or embrace that situation.
I appreciated the characters of color.
