I love this book and i will keep rereading it until i can find another love story that makes me so happy again. but that ending, crushing i have never cried so hard. so bitter sweet and i won’t get over it
A delightful book that was a great palate cleanser from the heavy books I have been reading.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.
One of the things I love about YA books, is they get right into the heart of the stories. No lengthy lead ins.
This is such a sweet story about a girl, Evie, who, at such a young age, has become cynical about love and doesn't believe it is something that is real and lasting. This is due to her having caught her father cheating on her mom. Once a reader of romance books, she abruptly gives them all away in a free library. Mysteriously, a woman shows up to talk to her, and she suggests that Evie take a book in the library. The only book is about how to dance. Her friend convinces her that this is a sign that she needs to go to the dance studio and see it through. Magic ensues and Evie is "gifted" the ability to see relationships; beginning, middle, and end. She views this as a curse. And as she only focuses on the endings, she hates this, and feels that it proves her point.
Through the story, we see Evie start a romance, even though she denies it to herself. She also learns about forgiveness and that not all endings are bad.

When a book finds you and you didn't even know you were looking for it....
I'm left in awe and gratitude to the writer for writing this book. So much more than a simple romance story, which I would have been perfectly content with.
I don't know if others have ever had the experience where you are internally grappling with questions in life (even unconciously), and then one day everything gets laid out through numerous serendipidous moments in your day and you wonder how the universe has orchestrated to line it all up just so?
Today, this story felt like a conduit of a higher power speaking wisdom directly to me in a personal way, and it suprised the hell out of me. Magical. Settles in the soul. So much deeper than the lightly entertaining time I had expected.

Instructions for Dancing follows Evie who is disillusioned with love and quite literally sees heartbreak everywhere she looks.
It is a poignant story that somehow manages to stay light-hearted and feel good, despite the heartache. A very atypical romance that doesn't focus on happy endings. In fact, it tells a story of not focusing on endings of any kind, but instead living and loving in the moment.
A delightful, emotional story for all contemporary fans.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me an e-copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

3,5/5 ⭐️
I love Nicole Yoon and she‘s an absolute talent. I didn‘t expect the ending and tbh it made me cry so hard. I‘m sobbing and mad. I like the book but I think it‘s more for younger ones (under 21). At first I didn‘t like the book a lot and didn‘t expect to love the metaphor of it.
Even if the book isn‘t my fav one, I really liked the metaphor of it! But it really hurt me :(

I love it here. Nicola Yoon will probably always be an auto-buy author for me since reading her first book. This was just so *clenches heart*
4.5 stars - This book was lovely and heartbreaking at the same time. It was such an addicting read; I didn’t want to put it down! I must say this was the quickest I’ve gotten through a book in months. This book definitely appealed to my cynical, but still-in-love-with-rom-coms heart and I could certainly see myself in Evie and how she sees the world. There is one thing towards the end that left me wanting something ~different~ but overall I really enjoyed this one. X was adorable, clever, witty and the perfect match for Evie. I loved Evie’s quirky friend Martin (gotta love a teenage boy who loves tweed) and her friend Sophie (jury is still out on Cassidy). This book was classic Nicola Yoon, in that it hits you in the feels, wrecks you a bit, but leaves you with hope and feeling like love can exist in spite of all the events that tell you it doesn’t.
