Who doesn’t love a brother’s best friend and second chance romance?? I know I do! Nina's debut novel won me over with a powerful lover story between the two characters.
Wes and Josie’s story was told in alternating timelines between the past and present. The mixed emotions from loving to heartbreak and tragedies. Wes was Josie’s twin brother’s best friend growing up. One unforgettable summer causing Josie to leave town. Seven years later and she returned back to her hometown. Moved in with her friend, not knowing Wes was also her friend’s roommate. And you know what happens from there. Wes will do everything in his power to win back Josie’s heart.

This story follows Josie and Wes through their tumultuous love journey. They grew up together because Wes is Josie’s twin brother Joe’s best friend. While growing up, Josie had a huge crush on Wes but felt that he didn’t reciprocate her feelings. However, things began to change between them during the summer after high school graduation, leading to a secret love affair. One night, an unexpected event causes Josie to leave home.
Seven years later, she returns to town and moves into a room in her co-worker’s house, sharing the space with other roommates. To her shock, one of the roommates turns out to be Wes. As they navigate their current relationship, the story delves into the events from their past that shaped them.
This book is filled with trauma and heartache, making it a poignant second-chance romance that will have you both crying and smiling. The chemistry between Josie and Wes is electric! The dual point of view allows readers to experience the thoughts and emotions of both characters, which I greatly appreciated. I also enjoyed the shifting perspective between their childhood and the present.
Overall, this is a beautiful love story about heartbreak and the journey to healing. Just a heads up: be sure to check the trigger warnings, as the book addresses several sensitive topics. Don’t miss out on this powerful read!

This wasn't bad, it was just long. The jump sometimes had me confused but overall I liked it. I enjoyed it. I was hoping it to end sometimes.
This was sweet and emotional and I loved it. I didn't want to stop reading Wes and Josie's story.
Beautifully written, the story followed Josie and Wes as teens in the past, as well as adults in the present. Though we knew early on that some key moments happened in their lives and relationship, it was fun when the chapters flicked back to the past to fill in the blanks and give us the full picture. Their relationship was complicated, but you could see how much they needed each other, how they were meant to be.
I really enjoyed this, a fantastic debut novel. It tugged at the heartstrings one moment and made you smile the next. An amazing second-chance romance story.

• LOVED.
• Second chance romance
• Brothers best friend
• Small town vibes
• I really thought both these characters were SO cute/sweet. The main male character was to die for. There was definite chemistry there and plenty of character depth that made you feel so much for them!
•There were so many heartbreaking moments and was pulling all sorts of emotion from me, it literally had me BAWLING by the end. I also loved the Hispanic female lead and all the Spanish culture involved in the story!
This is something I could absolutely read again. The whole tale of the story was amazing, the flow, the pace, everything was well done! Not bad for a debut novel!

This Debut Novel was just amazing! Nina did such an incredible job. We follow Josie and Wes (brothers best friend). They were all friends until it changed into more. Wes and Josie became lovers but no one knew. But it all changed one night when Josie left and didn’t return for 7 years. 7 years later, the feelings are still there but now it's complicated. This book was full of trauma and heartache. This book did break my heart but it also put it back together. Wes is such a sweetheart and he's a personal trainer .. hello hotness! He's also just a cinnamon roll and will do anything for Joise.
