The audio was FANTASTIC. However, I am not a fan of a few things that were said and how sexuality is discussed in this book.

"All while Dr. Holmes was preying on my grandma, who was in fact underage but she consented, and considered it an honor until they finally hooked up and well...he raped her," I said simply as I heard a few gasps. "A few times actually." I shrugged casually, thinking how my grandma never liked to talk about it but it was the most interesting part of the story if you ask me." - how is her grandmother being groomed and raped the most interesting part of her grandmother’s story about her role in the civil rights movement?

Maggie describes John as “almost too gay to function.”

Then John’s daughter describes Maggie as “she seemed on the tomboy side, but still feminine enough to not question her sexuality.” - how someone presents and their sexuality are two completely different things.

OMG this was absolutely fantastic. I had to stop a few times for a bit (work) but I binged this in one day. This was like listening to a movie, the narrators did a great job bringing this story and its characters to life.

This is told in multiple POVs, but it never got confusing or convoluted. I love that the fmcs are all strong, confident, bada$$ women. I also really enjoyed how many different creatures are featured, vampires, werewolves, sirens, water nymphs, witches , and more. I found myself smiling the entire time I listened to this, and lost count of the times I cackled laughing. I am immediately starting the next book. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
