I did enjoy this book but there are spelling and grammatical errors. I will definitely continue the series it does leave off on a cliffhanger. I hope the book gets more into the characters of the first family and learning more about their abilities. This book felt like more of an introduction to the characters and not focused on the plot.

From the very first page, The Secret Life of Maggie Grey pulled me into a world full of mystery, emotion, and unexpected twists. Maggie Grey is a beautifully complex character—relatable, flawed, and deeply human. Her journey of self-discovery, hidden truths, and the double life she’s been living is both heart-wrenching and empowering.
The writing is captivating, blending suspense with a strong emotional core that kept me turning the pages late into the night. Every character feels intentional, every secret revealed adds another layer, and by the end, I was completely invested in Maggie’s fate.
This book had everything I love: intrigue, beautifully written prose, and a heroine you can’t help but root for. If you're looking for a story that keeps you guessing while tugging at your heartstrings, The Secret Life of Maggie Grey is a must-read.

INITIAL READ 8/17/24
I rated it 4 ⭐️
REREAD 2/23/25
I low-key feel bad that I didn't give this my full attention the first time around. This story was good, but I had a few problems with it.
1. Weren't the main characters close to 30? Why were they acting so childish?
2. For this to be called "The Secret World of Maggie Grey," it seemed like Souxie was the main character instead of Maggie, and that was confusing to me.
3. The editing.
But overall, I changed my rating from 4⭐️ to 4.5⭐️.

I really wanted to like this.
There were too many characters, some of whom played no role in the progression of the plot. The characters were almost all representative of some racist stereotype. Additionally, there was little to help a reader differentiate between their voices. The men were aggressive or hypersexual. The women were immature, rude, and flighty. Despite being close to 30 years old, all were endlessly searching for the next wild party. Everyone's dialog was painful to read in places. The most interesting character, in my opinion, was the cat. He seemed to have his head on straight.
Also, the plot didn't really happen. The characters seemed to just mill around angrily, and do random things that didn't add up to an engaging story. Between that and the characters' grating personalities, I struggled to get through this book.
I know! It hurts me to write these words. I really wanted to love this book.
