I need more of this genre: HP meets True Blood meets HBCU on steroids. I truly enjoyed this story, but the writing wasn't great. The misuse of idioms was annoying, but I enjoyed the use of AAVE throughout.

Now for some of the characters. Coach Namir is beyond simple. He's easily influenced and horrible at paying attention to what's right in front of him, instead choosing to go off of what he's been told. Asha gets better throughout the book, but the whole “ I don't need anybody” thing gets old fast. Souxie, Maggie, and Isis are cool. Hillary is madd annoying, but towards the end, I started to feel differently.
