for me

I wasn’t sure what to expect as for me the description was lacking in detail but it was a good book. It was a quick and kind of simply read. The 3rd act was a little annoying but whatever. I enjoyed the book. The ending seemed a little rushed I hate when book just jump time and give basically a summary with little details. Overall it was a good book that I enjoyed. I think it was about average. 3/5

Firstly, I’d like to state, that this is actually a decent read for a New Adult novel.

The protagonist, Lou, was witty, quirky, and blunt. Just my kind of girl. The one downfall with her, was that A LOT of this book was constantly focused on her weight. Don’t get me wrong, I love me a plus size lead, but when it’s one of the main focuses, it kind of annoys me.

What I did like tho, was that Lou was confident with herself. In some parts, when people would criticize her, it shows the reader that even tho you’re super confident in something, we’re all human and can only handle so much, ya know.

The relationship that builds, I thought was done very well. (Considering it’s a fictional book and can only drag out so long, ya know)

I look forward to reading more by this author.

Adorable

Lou was my favorite kind of heroine, adorable, quirky and sassy. This book was great. I’m hoping for more with Lou’s best friend. She was definitely my favorite secondary characters.

I love roommate romances and this one was great! Lou was laugh out loud funny and sweet and quirky! I loved everything about her! It was truly fate that put Lou and Abel together! He was the most perfect book boyfriends and a wonderful match for her. I will never be able to eat a pink or yellow starburst again without thinking of these two. This book was very in your face about body image. It’s a first for me where background characters actually make these kinds of disgusting remarks and body shaming stereotypes to curvy women. I think it shed light beautifully on this topic and really got me emotional. I really enjoyed it and wasn’t ready for it to end. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

So funny!

This was my first time reading Micalea's work but OMFG, it was hilarious!
This is just some of the hilarity that awaits you:
"You might say I don’t need the mani-pedis, which might be true in theory, but I don’t need that kind of negativity from anyone in my life, so you can kindly f@#k off."

“Nick. I was—I am—a Nick girl. I’d let him break my vagina anytime"

"Without the sting of hurt we wouldn’t appreciate the high of happiness. Not everything is rainbows, sunshine, and unicorn farts."

Lou is my soul sister. Quirky, impulsive, funny and has no filter - we would be best friends.
Abel... a gentle giant. Loyal, loving and romantic. Such a catch.

This book was everything I expected it to be, and so much more.
If you are unsure whether you want to read it or not, I can tell you - it's so worth it.
It's the kind of book that makes you smile, laugh out loud and makes you go "awww".

The perfect “rom com” book with minimal spice. I’ve read a couple of her books before and LOVED them, so I’m not surprised. This was a binge worthy book, we had to know if Abel and Lou were matched by fate.

I absolutely loved this book. Granted it’s not as deep plot ways, on some of her more memorable books, or even books I generally gravitate to. But I absolutely enjoyed it. The book drew me in with the characters. I liked how Lou was just a regular girl, and even plus sized. She had to learn to learn to be comfortable in her own skin. And just loved Abel, how he was with Lou.. her friends his family. The Epilogue tied everything up but was just a quick fun read.
