If you've just emerged from the mentally taxing depths of a challenging book, this one offers a refreshing change of pace. It's a light-hearted read with a straightforward plot, that provides a welcome break from the complexity of a saga. While it may not currently align with my tastes, I can certainly see its value as a palate cleanser after delving into something more intense. I give it a 6/10

This could have been so good :((( As other review already stated, I wish we got the story *before* this book. There is so much potential for yearning and slowburn. Instead we just got flat characters with simple and predictable plot, with characters acting so stupid it hurts. I wanted to like this, I really did, but I failed miserably.
Now I need to find some good Merlin x Arthur fanfic on AO3 full of angst and yearning to satiate my hunger.

I absolutely love the idea of starting a story at the end. I love fantasy books and I love the drama and action and excitement that comes with them, but occasionally the nervous system needs some soothing and this is exactly what this is. It’s a fluffy, fantasy romcom about what happens after the big bad is gone, and provides the perfect soft escape we all need sometimes. Funny, whimsical, gentle and self aware. The perfect light read.

Great setup and fun idea! Vibes are definitely "what do your d&d characters do after the campaign ends" but with extra yearning and teen angst. Characters are fun to spend time with and the setting is easy to fall into.
My biggest gripe is how long the Miscommunication Trope is allowed to drag on. If that bothers you it can kinda ruin the pacing but there's a nice HEA waiting if you can get past it.

Před touhle knihou jsem si myslela, že jsem největší obhájce slowburn vztahů... ale tohle bylo i na mě v nějakých chvílích až moc slow :D
Původně jsem chtěla dát knížce vyšší hodnocení, ale pak se to ve mně trochu "uleželo", a i když to bylo fajn, miloučké počtení, nakonec bych pár věcí vytkla.
Dokud jsem knihu nedočetla, nedošlo mi, jak málo se toho vlastně odehrálo :D Trochu mi chyběl background k tomu, jak vlastně přátelství hlavní družiny vzniklo a rozhodně by mi prospělo trochu world-buildingu (ale to je čistě subjektivní záležitost človíčka, který na vš studuje kultury a nutně potřebuje každý neznámý svět v přehnaných detailech objasnit).
Když to ale pominu, bylo to miloučké, místy dost vtipné a kniha měla moc hezké poselství. (Plus bonusové body si pochopitelně připisuje obálka.) Knihu jsem měla dost rychle přečtenou, což je něco, co jsem v danou chvíli potřebovala - skvěle jsem u ní vypla. Mojí oblíbenou postavou se stala chmatářka Lila, ale i ostatní byly dobře vykreslené a měly něco do sebe :D.

3,5 ⭐️ C’était mimi, divertissant, exactement ce que j’en attendais ni plus ni moins, c’est à dire pas grand chose mais juste de quoi passer un bon moment avec une intrigue légère et des personnages amusants !
