Another fine book in the series
Great book for a causal read. Granted Magdalena is a bit harsher in this one. But I really enjoyed that this was set in a different town. And the characters are written so well. Wether it is the Milanese dignitary or the beggar king himself. I kind of hope we get to see these characters again in a future novel. Keep up the great writing can’t wait to see where the next book take us. If you like an almost Bond like book set in medieval Germany, this series may be for you

Fun 3rd novel in the series. More adventures for the hangman, his daughter, and the doctor's son, who get involved in a dastardly scheme in Regensburg. Good setup for a fourth novel.
Such fun - page-turning historical thriller. Great characters that you'll want to see again and again,

I really like this book, even though there are some, not so positive reviews. Also, I understand the lackluster ones. It wasn't quite on par with the other 2 in the series so far.
That being said, book 4 is on my bookcase and I will be reading it at some point. I love that we got a glimpse into both Jakob and his wifes back story. I love the way he writes the interaction between characters. All in all a great series with a very lovable and relatable cast of characters.
