I love the landscapes that Hardy evokes in this novel and I love the journey we go on with Bathsheba as she grows up and becomes her own woman running the farm.
This book is a lesson about the different kinds of love we can experience and their effects and ultimately which ones stand the test of time.

this man made a few too many generalizations about women (wait, what am I saying, men are experts on the subject!) and I definitely skimmed some of his long paragraphs about the scenery, but overall it was a delightful little tale, and much more fun than I expected it to be.

Hardy's writing is so sooooo good
I read this book in high school, it was the first Thomas Hardy book I ever read. And I remember thinking to myself... 'huh, I guess I don't like Thomas Hardy' and for years I did not pick up another Hardy book.
Which is crazy because [b:Tess of the D'Urbervilles|32261|Tess of the D'Urbervilles|Thomas Hardy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1434302708l/32261._SY75_.jpg|3331021] is one of my favorite books. This book almost ruined Hardy for me!
