hardy’s male characters all need to be locked up

This was the wordiest book I have read in a long, long time. However, I did enjoy it and the movie that just came out was really awesome, so I'm glad I read the book first. Hardy is tough to get into and through since he's so detail-oriented, but the storyline was great.

this may make you want to bash your head against a wall at times with basheba’s horrendous decision making when it comes to romance but, listen, that can be said for the best of us.
it’s okay everyone, she gets the one she was meant to be with all along and it’s just as satisfying as all of the head bashing would make you think.
lots of pastoral imagery, lots of silly men with rash women, and some classic thomas hardy melodrama. what’s not to love?
p.s. gabriel oak wins #1 classic book bf and everyone else should take notes
