The author spends a lot of time developing characters which is good, but I found some of the detail not necessary. I was almost halfway through the book before I found that I could really get into this book. For me, this book was just okay.

The way the timeline was set up was initially fairly confusing and even up to halfway through the book I’d often feel confused about missing plot points but it came together in the end. I think it would’ve been easier to read with a timeline in the 1930s and one in the 1940s instead of 3 separate. I think there are good points in regards to government propaganda and censorship that’s affecting the US currently and it’s scary foreshadowing.

It's a good WWll historical fiction and I've enjoyed learning about the things going on during those times from the three different perspectives. The one thing that kind of got on my nerves was the three different timelines because I had to keep going back to the beginning of each chapter to remember what year the events of the chapter were happening.But overall it's, again, a good book.
3.5/5 Rating for me.
