Woah I am giddy with the banter between Rooke and Soren. Also loving the begging (if you know you know) so many truths are revealed!

You will slowly begin to see the future that the fates have given them. Not just Rooke and Soren, but other key characters as well. And it will break your heart, you saw a little of that in the first book.

The hatred between the fae and witches, is all consuming for both sides. However Rooke is standing there trying to get them to see the error in their ways. One key part that Soren is involved in help him see that maybe their future doesn’t need to end in

Storytelling similar to the first one. Feels like a guilty pleasure. I think I expected so little that the ending caught me by surprise.

I have never harshly rated a book 1⭐️ before but I need to express how disappointing, cringe and rage worthy this whole book experience was. And trust me, I was SO EXCITED for this release!!! It was all I was thinking and talking about for a while. But It was so painfully obvious that J Bree was nowhere near ready to publish this book. If she was delaying the release because she needed more time to write and edit, I would've been sad but totally fine with that. Authors are human and have lives too- I get it and the fans would've understood. Instead, she basically gaslit all her fans about the delayed release (including complete radio silence for TWO DAYS after the supposed release date) and then blamed literally everyone but herself and her "team."

There were so many embarrassing spelling and grammatical errors (magic sauce???), unexplained changes from first to third person, plot points that made absolutely no sense and just horrible character development. What happened to Soren groveling?? And Rooke standing her ground like in book 1?? The romance was bad but don't even get me started on how awful the spice was. I can read some shameless smut but I draw the line at the term "weeping pussy." I can't.

Between how bad the actual book was and how careless "Team J Bree" was in communicating and addressing her fans with this release, I think I'm done with this series and ultimately done with anything by this author.

I love this series but sometimes there were typos and editing mistakes that took me out of the story. Otherwise, LOVE.

DNF at Page 400….this book has to be a joke. It’s just spiraling downhill and honestly, it’s too long to watch this train burn anymore. Save the time and energy and skip this series completely. No steamy romance also in the first two books (over 1,000 pages). Maybe there will be in the next books but I’m not wasting my time anymore.

3.5✨ All the other reviews prefer book 1 over book 2 but for me the majority of this book was better than its predecessor.

It was only until about 80% that I was really done with the book and series. I was so sick of reading the same lines about him being jealous or growling

Clunky writing and editing overall a disappointment on plot and the ending was solely done for shock value with no prior foreshadowing. Just what is going on, I don't even know what to say.

Enjoyed this but the ending was so messy … wtf is an assai? Where do the reborn witches come from? I’m so confused
