Needed another couple of editor run throughs to clarify loads of things - eg a number of times I had no idea where they were supposed to be. Are they in the woods? Or outside? Or on their way to somewhere?? What? Also sorry who is who? Have we heard of these people before? When? Thank god for X-ray on kindle but even that didn’t help. Wish we had way less time understanding stupid Sorens possessiveness and more of Rooke going ahead and having wonderful friendships with Reed and Tauren (now he’s had a personality change) and then also helping us understand some of the crazy confusing family tree, coven dynamics which are barely touched on IMO. Plus some of the typos are unreal and made it super hard to follow and already hard to follow second half of the book.

This was SO GOOD. But also, the end??? The reveal??? I can’t even form thoughts.

Yikes... I'm not sure what to think about this one but I wasn't enthralled with it like I was with book 1. I'll need to debate about reading next one.

The story itself gets 5 stars, but the complete lack of editing gets 1 star, averaging out to 3. I loved the story and can’t wait for the third book, but I’m hoping that it will be edited a little better. Every chapter was riddled with grammar issues and missing or added words and it made the reading experience a little hard. By the end I just wanted to finish because I was getting so frustrated with it. Again, the story and the premise are great. If you can look past the issues or if the issues get fixed, I highly recommend. I was a little confused by the cliffhanger but I’m sure I missed something along the way.

  1. Gage and Sari have to be mates… right?!
  2. Will Tyton get a mate?!
  3. We spent so much time on Soren’s protective mate shit. At first it was adorable, but after a while it got flat out annoying.
  4. We spent way too much time just doing nothing.
  5. I enjoyed the addition of Thea, but it felt like she was just added in to explain the brothers sadness. We got a lot of time spent on her, but she didn’t really move the story along.
  6. Was not expecting that ending. It definitely got very wordy and family tree complicated at the end so it was a little hard to follow who was who.
  7. The grammatical errors were a lot more obvious in this book. Curious if that’s because the audiobook isn’t recorded yet, so those would get caught.

Okay slay I can finally review this!!
I’m genuinely so obsessed with this story. This is TRUE enemies to lovers, and I’m so glad we finally got to the lovers part of the story. I was so glad to see Rooke finally start getting the respect she deserves!! I seriously love her so much. And Soren being all jealous and possessive was EVERYTHING. The ending absolutely crushed me, and now I’m just anxiously awaiting book 3.
Side note: I rated this 5 stars for the story, but there were A LOT of typos, especially towards the end. I read a lot of ARCs, so I’m used to looking past typos, but this was a fully published book and should’ve been edited better. It didn’t distract me from the story too much, but it did seem very rushed. It was definitely unexpected after the release date being pushed back.
