This unique story follows two Deckers or people who are destined to die today, as they navigate their last day alive. The characters are so relatable and loveable, knowing that they die at the end makes the book even sadder than if their deaths had been a surprise. This book is about taking chances, taking time to love your people, and becoming who you want to be, not who the world wants you to be.

I knew what the title was but I still was shocked at the ending. Brutally devastating character development and talks about the true meaning of what it means to be alive. Also, I read this on a plane and I seriously do not recommend!

I thought this book was a sci-fi book, but it truly YA contemporary.  I probably wouldn’t have picked it up if I knew that.  That being said,  I found the premise of the book interesting and the ending was a gut punch, but the middle dragged for me.  I also hated listening to the narrator’s Rufus chapters - the slabs Just sounded so out of place when he read those chapters.

My favourite book of the year so far - I got instantly attached to the characters and enjoyed the journey we went on. I sobbed multiple times but also felt the love and hope pour from the pages despite the bleak outcome, A true emotional masterpiece.
