Not my favorite ending. But the journey throught the book is enjoyable. The different POVs can be off putting at times but overall pretty good.

I just don't like the way the characters voices are written and I do not connect with Rufus at all. Interesting concept though.

One of the most beautiful books. It shows in a heartwarming way what it means to be living and how beautiful life is and can be even if you know u only have limited time. It tells us to not loose hope and instead live every day to the fullest so we can go without regrets. It's definitely not easy to read given the topic is certain death within 24 h, but it is worth the sadness and hurt it will put you through, cause it gives so much more. I loved every second of it, this book took me home.

Me with only about thirty pages left: “Oh maybe this book won’t make me cry.”

Me not even ten or so pages later: *balling my eyes out for the rest of the book*

READ THIS BOOK. DO IT. Of course if constant mentions of death is triggering for you, then don’t read it.  I keep thinking about the book and just want to cry 😭

Dear Author:
  • Just because your audience target is 13-14 years old doesn't mean you need to write as if you are also that age.
  • The audience is aware your characters are dying and do not need you to remind them every three sentences.
  • Random quotes from famous people that don't specifically relate to your characters doesn't make your book deep.
  • There is no need to recap song lyrics from every song. This isn't fanficton.

The premise had potential, but the execution was poor; which was further emphasized by the juvenility of the writing style. Unfortunately, the characters weren't likable enough to pull you through.

God, what a heartbreaking book. Even knowing from the beginning that they both die at the end, I was still shocked when it happened. It was interesting to watch Rufus and Mateo's relationship develop over the book, each improving on the other's flaws and affecting each other in different ways. I wasn't completely sold on some of the minor character's relationships to the main ones, particularly
Rufus and Aimee's.
It felt more like we were told how they feel about each other rather than witnessing any real chemistry. That being said, my only other complaint is that the writing sometimes felt stilted and cringy, making it somewhat frustrating to read. Although I can count on one hand the amount of times that actually affected my enjoyment of the story, so it's a very minor complaint. Overall it's a great read, would highly recommend if the premise interests you at all.
