This book came highly recommended and I can see why; it's enjoyable and feels like fast reading, yet it's amazing how much depth the author packs in. The book explores what makes comics unique from other art forms and why that matters. It gives examples of how different comic traditions have approached representing time, space, feelings, etc. It provides context on the technological/cultural influences on past generations of comics.
And it inspires the reader to become a part of the future of comics. Really interesting read, I recommend it to anyone interested in art theory or comics.

Absolutely incredible - helped me better understand the powerful emotional effect of comics by exploring different ways of using the medium. And it's funny! I adored this book.

It definitely helped me a lot in further understanding comics. It helped me get through an class that forced me to analyze comics. If you want to know more about the art 9f comics or need to get through an analysis this is the correct book to look at.

Probably the best book for graphic designers that's not about graphic design.
