Fletcher "Grey" Pride, the Duke of Greycourt, goes to his Mother's home after his stepfather passes away. Grey is instantly drawn to Beatrice Wolfe. Grey's mother plans on helping Beatrice as she makes her first appearance in London society. Grey's brother believes that Beatrice's brother is responsible for the suspicious death of his stepfather.

I initially enjoyed the premise of this book, but the convoluted family relationships of Grey and his siblings (his mother was widowed three times and he his half-brothers are dukes) was very confusing and hard to follow. Beatrice is related to Grey's stepfather, so it was really weird to see how close the two families were once they started a relationship. The dialogue between Grey and Beatrice felt stilted at times. Also, the language that Jeffries used during the steamy scenes was distracting and just made me laugh.

Ugh! I don’t care for this one at all. Also, the narrator leaves much to be desired.
