An adorable and sweet slow-burn romance with lots of banter, gentle snark, impossibly wonderful neighbours and two men who were clearly made for each other. I loved every minute of this book and stayed up until the wee hours reading this so I could go to bed happy and content. A definite feel-good romance that is guaranteed to turn around even the crappiest of days.

How can two m/m books written by women be so different??? Idk but I enjoyed this one. Specially bc it didn't focus only on the romance, but in the whole cul-de-sac neighborhood.

This really hit all my buttons. Light angst, laughs, great UST, fantastic resolution of said UST, and great characters. Simply a joy to read.

I really really hate to say this, but this sequel didn’t even come close to the enjoyment factor I got when compared to [b:Leo Loves Aries|32053864|Leo Loves Aries (Signs of Love, #1)|Anyta Sunday|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1473941215s/32053864.jpg|52694520], and I suppose my rating reflects that. Trust me, I’m quite devastated that I didn’t love this hard. Admittedly, it would be a seriously difficult feat to top its predecessor which probably rates in the top 3 reads for me this year, and that’s really saying a lot.
On its own, this was a perfectly serviceable romance where Percy and Cal unknowingly unwittingly cluelessly, perhaps mostly on Percy’s part, flirt with each other for years under the ruse of light disdain disguised as attraction and want. Why it took them so long to get their heads outta their asses is beyond my comprehension, but Sunday is known for, and freely admits to, loving a slow slow burn.
Obviously, when it works, it works but this time around it fell a bit short due to unrealistic expectations that I solely take the blame for. Poor Percy and Cal never really had a chance, having a ginormous upward climb against the standard of Jamie and Theo.
I love Anyta Sunday and there's probably not a book of hers I won’t or wouldn’t read. I just couldn’t connect with the characters easily, and it took awhile for me to really get into their story, and no one is more disappointed about that than me. However, this was still cheeky fun and sweet, with a little sexy to keep the reader wanting more. Next time around I’ll just have to restrain my Jamie love a bit more, because no doubt, there will be a next time!

Hmm.. I had higher hopes for this, but it sadly didn't quite deliver.
Although I thought the characters were plenty likeable enough and the romance followed an okay path, I just cannot help but feel like there was something missing here. Perhaps it was that Percy and Cal both showed a little too much restraint when it comes to their emotions. They hardly ever communicated properly, and never let their true feelings shine through. It was honestly exhausting, and also slightly jarring. I was often confused as to what was even going on and where their headspace was at.
I mean, we read from Percy's POV, yet I don't feel like we truly get to openly know what he was feeling. For example, about half-way through the book it is revealed that Percy has basically been in love with Cal since forever, buuuttt.... I was completely unaware of this. He never even seems to think about Cal in a romantic way before this point! Soo, how is it possible Percy's been in love with Cal this entire time without us knowing that if we are reading from inside Percy's head the entire book??? It's weird and makes the book seem messy.
Anyway, aside from this, I did think the vibe of the story was sweet and sometimes even a bit heart-warming. I thought Cal and Percy had a lot of honest friendship moments between them, and they did appear to always be there for each other.
The thing is, though, that in my opinion this story could just as well have been about two people slowly becoming best friends rather than them becoming lovers. After all, I hardly saw any romantic chemistry, and their interactions didn't appear to steer in that direction either.
Soooo, oh well. This was sweet, but nothing amazing and it definitely had its faults.

Good read
Great slow burn romance which ticks all the boxes. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and exploring the themes of grief, attraction, neighbourly spirit, and family.
