Really liked this one. I read it twice, and both times went really well. Although I’d suggest the reader tailor the approach to themselves since it’s generalisable but not as much as the author would hope (for instance, the pig squeals were very different for me and I also found that saying “fuck off” helped. Lol.). Glenn’s YouTube channel is invaluable also when it comes to helping with the disordered eating

A lot of the content of this book was incredibly eye opening and useful for me. I know I will definitely be creating a food plan as suggested and using the tips and tricks the book provides.
However, there were a few small things that ended up lessening my enjoyment over the time it took to listen to the audiobook. Firstly, the narrator. The voice of the reader was quite harsh to my ears and at times difficult to follow. Everything felt over exaggerated and fake, which in turn made it harder for the things he was saying to ring true. Secondly, the constant suggestions to download extra packs, or refer to his website, or look out for his next book. It felt more like a sales pitch at times than a self help book, which made the book feel less human and gave the author less empathy in my eyes.
Overall, I found this book a positive reading experience in terms of content but a negative reading experience in terms of structure and narration, and that is why I lowered my rating to 3 stars.

You know the saying “this meeting could’ve been an email” well this book could’ve been an article. Like it gets to the point in the first few pages and then from then on it’s just reiterating what it said in the beginning. The advice is sound but personally I feel like it’s unnecessarily long.

The advice in this book could be very triggering for someone with an ED already, and could contribute to someone developing an ED

A book that tells you that you HAVE the power control your cravings, albeit in a very abusive language (The Pig - your worst desires that only wants to EAT anything). I find that the main message seemed reasonable. However, it may trigger people with ED to restrict themselves even more, so take the author’s language with a grain of salt, and try the method. If it doesn’t work, ok. If it does, good for you.

Personally, it worked for me for 3 days, then I came back to the same frame of thinking: I’ll observe my own guts and decide if I want to eat the food or not. Guess I’m not good at long term commitments like promising myself to Never Binge Again Ever. That’s just too damn scary.

Very helpful, learned a lot about myself

Very helpful book. I prefer writing that has a more formal tone, but I stuck with it and found many passages that revealed a lot about me. This book is one of the pieces that is helping me get my eating under control.

DID NOT FINISH: 30%

I didnt really enjoy the pig idea. I mean I like to look at things from a scientific perspective and the more I read the more I realized that this book doesnt give a long term solution. I mean it could work just as it did for the author but I dont think its for me. I only realized just how lacking this book was after I read the binge code, which I enjoyed a lot more.
