I honestly think Haruki Murakami is one of the best writers of our time. This was an incredible novel- thrilling and mysterious and perfect from start to finish. It’s weird and carries a bit of the mystical, like every good Murakami- but the emotional weight of the book is real and wonderful.
Classic Murakami with a gentler twist. This is such a carefully crafted story, with a mystery that keeps your eyes glued to the pages. Nothing here happens very suddenly, but there's always unsolved parts you're looking forward to.
There's plenty to think about at the end, but I would perhaps wish for a bit more monumental finish. Anyway, loved every page of it.
