This was such a cute graphic novel. I really enjoyed the artwork and learning a bunch of space facts as I read. In this book, Grace is excited to get away from her over protective mom and spend a weekend with her fun mom. So they go on a trip where her fun mom is delivering some cargo to Titan. Grace is so excited to go to Titan - she desperately wants to see the frozen lake. And while her mom is working Grace explores Titan and befriends some kids that are going on a field trip the next day to the frozen lake. They invite her to join in on the field trip - without telling her mom or the teacher of course - and she meets up with them the next day. While on the field trip she gets separated from the group and gets left behind. Of course her mom is not happy that she snuck off to go someplace on her own but Grace feels very ignored by her mom. They haven't hung out at all and Grace has been left on her own for almost the whole trip. A few more things happen but I don't want to spoil the ending of the book for you, definitely check this one out! It's super cute and the artwork is amazing.

I loved the art, but unfortunately the story was so-so. I felt like Grace's Ba could have used a little more growth in understanding Grace's need for attention after being away from her for so long.

This book about feelings as big as Saturn’s moon Titan is not only a fantastic source of information about the ringed planet’s gigantic moon, it’s also a great read for kids and kids at heart with a passion for space exploration and family dynamics. Loved this book!

“I like boring. Boring means everything’s working.”

Grace is going on a summer trip across space! She is leaving her home space station, and her boring mother Evelyn, to hang out on a ship and explore Titan with her fun mom Kendra.

Grace was such a sweet and relatable character. I was about her age when I started bouncing from house to house after a divorce. But lucky for her, she gets to explore space as well! It was fun to see a relatable story with the science fiction backdrop. I loved that the divorce process wasn’t part of the story; we just have two not-together parents that happen to be moms, and I thought the story handled that situation so well.

The art was super cute, and I especially enjoyed the landscapes of space. The joy shown in Grace’s eyes was everything.

Rep: trans male author, Latinx artist, two moms! Grace and Evelyn are brown-skinned; Kendra is light-skinned and uses the honorific Mx.

This is such a fun way of approaching the idea of a kid wanting more autonomy in their lives and to be trusted more with responsibility. I'll readily recommend this for the library I work at! It is a fantastic exploration of STEM topics, science and space, in the context of a coming of age.
