Oh, the angst. The lovely, turturous, teenage angst is overflowing in this book. it still feels like a guilty pleasure. this book reminded me a bit of the show Supernatural, where the boys will do anything to protect each other, even if that means doing some dodgy stuff and keeping secrets. there were some very unlikely scenarios (2 aliens against the whole government Department of Defence) which was reminiscent of vampire diaries again, but then a book about aliens isn't likely to be realistic and I understand the author has to make it challenging for the characters. I think there was a lot of character development in this book, I felt there was a bit too much emphasis on the whole 'I like him/I don't like him' but overall the characters were fleshed out a bit more and we learn more about the back stories. the plot also developed in leaps and bounds in this book. the end plot line is similar to the darkest powers series. (a bit more childish than this series, but definitely enjoyable) I like the direction this is going, already got the next book in the series.

What an end!!!!! Can't wait until Opal comes out!

Onyx was great!!! I liked it as much as Obsidian!! I liked Kate better in the first book, maybe because of some of her bad decisions.

And Daemon... *sigh* I liked him better this time around, even though I'm really attracted to "jerk Daemon" too :P

Once again, one of my favorite things about these books is Daemon POV at the end. And that scene was... wow so intense. And how cute they were?

I love them together. I missed Dee a lot, I really enjoyed her in Obsidian. I never liked Blake haha.

And I'm a fan of how things developed between Daemon and Kate during this book. The chemistry between them is amazing.

I want to read Opal already!!!

Daemon, it was clear from the start that I would absolutely fall for you, YOU CAN STOP BEING SO GORGEOUS NOW!!

This book was so good, I can't even! I want to run to the bookshop now and grab the next book, I can't wait to read on!

I own the Special Collectors Edition, which includes scenes in Daemons pov, which made me fangirl so hard!

Wanna see Katy making one stupid decision after another? This is the book for you!

~ ... "Stift im Rücken"... - So iconic at this Point! 🙌🤣🤣
I got the humor of a 7 year old 😂
~ Lesefortschritt 54%:

Will 😡😡😡😡 I'm raging!! 🤬🤬🤬 Adam 💔💔💔 Dawson! 😮

Great Escapism!

AWESOME! Onyx was a brilliant, well written, heart wrenching and addicting sequel to Obsidian. just when I thought the series couldn't get any better Onyx blew me away with its epicness and roller-coaster plot.

My Thoughts:

1. One thing that irked me while reading Obsidian was Daemon's need to always be a smart mouth or witty during a serious conversation. It can come off as mean or arrogant. But we finally get to see Daemon's sweet and romantic side (What?! He has a sweet side? yeah I know...) which totally won me over and had me falling head over heels for him.

2. Katy is still a kickass heroine and is definitely not a pushover when it comes to Daemon. (well except for a few in-the-moment-kisses)

3. The Ending. I kinda saw it coming but it was still a shocker nonetheless.

4. The pacing is comfortable and easy going. I don't know how the author is able to fit so MUCH into one book while not making it feel rushed.

5. There were alot of events that I did NOT see coming and I had to take a breather because I felt so emotionally overwhelmed.

6. I cannot wait to see what happens next in Opal! The series just keeps getting better and better.

OH.
MY.
FREAKING.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't think. I really can't explain what this book made to me. Last night I dreamt about aliens and abductions and Daemon. I spent a whole day reading this and I don't regret it.

No puedo pensar.

Okey, here is my full review:
The book picks up a few days after the last chapter of [b:Obsidian|15852177|Obsidian (Lux, #1)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1346076434s/15852177.jpg|17588854], and Daemon and Katy are still connected. They don't know why that happenned after he healed her, but now Daemon wants to prove to her that his feelings for Katy are real. And, of course, she doesn't believe him because all the attitudes he had towards her on the first book. To make things worse, a new boy showed up in school and it's really interested in Katy. Like, totally interested. And now the Department of Defense is in town investigating some strange things that happenned in Halloween (meaning, Baruck's attack). But that's not it: Katy starts to develop some strange powers that she can't control and can be a consecuence of Daemon's healing.

Oh, boy.
This is the scenario and I have to be honest: I never thought this author would make me jump in my seat, stop my own breath and had me close the book for a few moments because I couldn't believe what was happening.
The dialogues and the descriptions are so well written, the characters have such a great development and every single chapter was awesome. There are some parts where the sweet Daemon Black showed up and I was like...

I still thought of him as a douche but my heart couldn't stop melting everytime I read any single scene with that Luxen.
Katy didn't annoy me until, more or less, the page 200. Her attempts to ignore Daemon were so funny but as soon as she started to get closer to Blake because of the stupid training (don't get me wrong, her motives for doing so are totally understandable) and Daemon started to not being with her...
Well... let's just say I wanted to smash the book onto the floor for how pissed I was.

The suspicion and all the uncover mission scenes made me clinging out in my couch and the fight scene at the end totally broke my heart.
SpoilerThis woman is like George R. R. Martin: why the hell did you kill Adam for?? Dee and Katy's relationship was getting worse and with this, I truly doubt they stay like the closest friends they were!!!! UGH!!!

"Ooh, look, there is only fourty pages left. Nothing can go wrong."
After reading Cassandra Clare and Jennifer Armentrout, that thought will never, EVER, show up in my head again.
Spoiler The way Katy finally said to Daemon how much she wanted him and how he reacted was so sweet!! But I knew Will couldn't be trusted! I felt really bad for Katy and all she went through because of that soul-less human being.

The ending... well, I know the ending left me wanting for more and now I can't wait to throw this stupid final so I can ask my mum to buy me the next book! Honestly, I don't know why it took me so long to pick it up: IT WAS AWESOME!!!!
