OK the story is getting better as we goes to the end . I really want to know what happened in the last scene . Why he only stays ? .
The first part is about 3 or 2 and half stars. I really started to feel it is boring . I knew Katy was affected very strongly by Daemon but we don't need to real it 1000 times .
The second part is really 5 stars . Real love appeared . Daemon's love for Katy , his brother and his sister . All of the scenes were really good.

JENNIFER WHAT THE HELL!!! I have no words!!! Only Gifs!

My complete rambling mess of a review (plus smexy photos to boot) can be found HERE (a side note, I try to make my reviews spoiler free, but that might not always happen. If you haven't read Obsidian (WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU WAIT FOR! And maybe wait to read this review till you read book 1 (psst...I reviewed Obsidian for ya too!!! ;) )

This book is just one action packed chapter after another. Jennifer really took this book to a whole new lever of epicness. Just when you think you can rest, BAMN you are kidnapped into another heart pounding moment of terror. You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time.

If you loved all the snarky, one-liners and hilarious moments from Obsidian, Onyx has twice as much!!!! I don’t know how Jennifer managed to cram so much AMAZINGNESS in 366 pages but she did! There is so much in this book it’s enough to fill about four more books!

Second books often times never live up to our expectations or have so much pressure to be epic, that they falter and are a disappointment. This book is so far from a disappointment and dare I say it’s even better than Obsidian. I tend to always have a problem with a second book in a series because the first book is so amazing and just incredible that it’s hard to have lightning strike twice. Many second books are either fillers and aren’t as amazing as the first or last book (City of Ashes), go in a direction you just didn’t see coming and feel to a cliché (Pandemonium) or its just so, so and totally horrible (Bitterblue). Often times there is so much pressure and your expectations are so high that the second book can never meet your expectations. Well Jennifer sure didn’t do that. I go as far to say that Onyx is a hundred times better than Obsidian. Everything you loved about obsidian is turn up to eleven, yes eeellleven. AND there is still so much to this world and these characters that it’s not just Obsidian, pt. 2 but something phenomenal and amazing all on its own. It will shock you right out of your rocking chair!

The character development in this series is just so incredible. It’s not very often that you fall in love with ever-single character in this book. And even though this book is paranormal and we are talking about aliens here, they are dealing with real issues. And I love seeing that. Yea sure, Daemon and Katy are dealing with a crazy Aurum and sneaky governments, but they have to deal with jealously! God Dee and Adam have to deal with having sex for the first time and all the feelings that come with that! It’s a wonderful experience to be able to watch these characters not only during times when they are in trouble and have to get out of something (which is usually what a normal plot line is about) but we get to see their in-between moments, the moments between the action and all kinds of bat shit crazy twists and turns. Their normal moments. And it really helps you get closer to the characters.

The humor is better, the angst is almost unbearable and oh lordy is the romance and torment turned up. And don’t get me started on the action. I feel like I'm fighting an Aurum myself! When I was finished reading one of the many crazy action scenes, I was sweaty and my heart was pounding out of my chest.

We get to see a lot of different sides to every character and while a lot of other books the character are predictable and perfect at times, our characters show their flaws and vulnerabilities. It really gets you attached to each one. Katy for one breaks all the expectations you have for a main character. As we know from Obsidian, she isn’t one to be pushed over, she isn’t one to get herself in trouble by being totally fucking stupid we need to throw the book across the room, and she isn’t one to let a boy rule her existence. We see her be a kick ass chick, we get to see her discover herself and find out what she wants in life. Does she want Daemon, or the new hottie, the new normal hottie; Uncomplicated. We get to watch her with that struggle. You get to watch her deal with the relentless hatred from the other Luxen. You get to see so much of this character and you really get to feel for them and they really feel like part of your life.

And we get to see a new side to Daemon and I must warn you ladies, it’s going to make you fall in love with him a bit more. It’s going to be impossible to resist him now. The multi-dimensions of these characters are outstanding!

This book is great, I love the action, the angst and hot damn she even threw in some mystery to this whole crazy thing called the Lux series. I loved every minute of this book and I can’t stand the wait till Opal comes out to find out WHAT THE FUCKING FUCKED UP FUCKING SHIT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT!!! Seriously!!!! I don’t know how this can be five fricking books but I know I will lover EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!!! There is so much that happens in this book it could have been a series all on its own!

And that is another great thing about Jen, she isn’t just writing a story or telling a tale, she is pleasing the readers, she has the readers in mind. You want more Daemon, BAMN you got it, wrapped up in a fricking pink bow eating a cookie! You want more humor, BAM you got it, fricking alien cooties! You want more romance and sexual tension, BAM you got it, in the fricking library!!!

Jennifer has created yet another amazing book that will have you on the edge of your seat screaming at the words on the page to not be true!!! You will feel the tingle of every kiss, the gripping fear of every action moment and the utter heartbreak with every plot twist. Your fingers will refuse to let go, your eyelids will betray you and never let you cover your eyes, and you will just have to learn to live without food, sleep or bathroom breaks while you read Onyx. (A little tip? Don’t drink anything caffeinated! Will just make you pee more!)

I can’t find enough words to tell you all how much I love Jennifer and how much I love this world she has created. If you are looking for something different and utterly captivating, the Lux series is it! So find some place comfortable, set the DVR to record your shows, tell your friends and family that you will return later and if they disturb you, you will go all Lux on their ass because this book is going to suck you in and not let you go! Even with the ending you will not be able to tear yourself away. This book is everything you have been wanting and more!

This book and series is utter perfection.

“I think reading is sexy.” Daemon smiled at himself.
My brows inched up my forehead. ”Do you now?”
“Oh, yes, and you know what else I think is sexy?” he leaned forward so his entire face filled the picture and nodded his head toward me. “Bloggers like this. Hot.” Rolling my eyes, I smacked his arm. p. 250

“Cookie?” he offered, holding a cookie full of chocolate chips.
Upset tummy or not, there was no way I could refuse that.
“Sure”
His lips tipped up on side and he leaned toward me, his mouth inches from mine. “Come and get it.” come and get …? Daemon placed half the cookie between those full, totally kissable lips
Oh, holy alien babies everywhere… p. 5

Words were the most powerful too. Simple and so often underestimated. They could heal. They could destroy. And I needed to use my words now. I wrapped my fingers around his wrist, welcoming the jolt that touching him gave me. p. 223

“Kitten,” he said again, voice strained. ”You don’t get to do that and then stop. That’s now it works.” I started at him, my breath stalling in my lungs.“Not when you’re mine.” Daemon backed us up and slid down the wall, pulling me onto his lap so I was straddling him.“And you’re mine.” p. 293

“Because I know.” Daemon appeared in front of me, eyes narrowed. He thumped his hand off his chest, directly above his heart. ”Because I know what I feel in here. And I'm not the type of person to run from anything, no matter how hard it is. Id rather face-plant against a brick wall than live for the rest of my life wondering what could’ve been. And you know what? I don’t think you were the type to run either. Maybe I was wrong.” Stunned, I pulled my hands out and brushed my hair back. p.133

Finished this in one day... so obviously I loved it haha.

Loved: Daemon... he keeps getting better and better and sometimes I feel like he deserves better than Katie. I also enjoyed how we got a little more of the DOD.

Hated: Katie was terrible in this book. The whole push-pull with Daemon was awful and her random guilt and thinking she can protect people or that she is super strong and capable. I hope in the next book she isn't so winey and indecisive. Like how the hell do you trust a random stranger but now Daemon? ugh.

Can someone get these heroines some self-esteem and listening skills to go with it. I love this second installment of the Lux series but man Katy drove me shit bonkers this time around. I wanted to slap her upside the head many times. It was so obvious how Daemon felt about her but it was like she wasn't hearing him. He tries so hard to protect her but she wouldn't give him the chance some of the time, okay I know she's a strong character and can handle herself but she's in his world and he knows the danger more than she can imagine.

Katy screws up big time and I was doing the, I told you so, you should have gotten your head out of your ass and listen and not be so damn stubborn. I'm not sure why Katy fought Daemon at every turn, when he was trying do right by her and his sister Dee, was she afraid to deal with her feelings for him?, was she worried he didn't feel the same way?(even though he tells and shows her many times), or did she just had a hard time accepting it and was afraid to take a chance. She claims she doesn't run away from difficult things but she kept running away from Daemon. She even kept important alien, life and death info from him(really?), if she finds out something important i'm thinking "oh good, she's on her way to tell him" but nooo she sees him and runs the other way because can't deal with him now(Huh?). She constantly picks a fight(even though Daemon likes that about her) rather than peacefully talking things out and is always lying about her feelings, which I think she really started believe herself. Another big thing about Katy his she tends to not follow her instincts, woman's intuition, evil could be staring her in the eye and she knows it but she tells herself she's it's just paranoid or it's Daemon's paranoia influence or she just completely blocks it out, it seems.

This book was still pretty funny, especially Daemon's dislike for Bleck, Boob, Flake, oh yeah, Blake. I'm sure Daemon knew Blake's name but for his life he would not call him anything but, it was so funny. This book was a lot more action packed. Daemon was redeemed and was still a dickhead at times but also still swoon worthy as Katy might describe some of the male heroes from the books she blogs about. Love it, even with Katy's mind boggling choices.

Now to waiting for the third installment.

I'm enjoying this series so much. I bloody love Daemon and I really like Katy (even though she's hella annoying sometimes, seriously annoying). The ending was just... aww. And can I just say that the humour in these books is hilarious, I laugh out loud all the time. Can't believe I didn't read the Lux series sooner!

Btw I so need to buy printed copies of these, but in the meanwhile, thank god for Amazon ebooks!

ME AFECTO DEMASIADO. Tengo un vacío existencial en estos momentos. Necesito leer el tercero YA.

Ah, the dreaded sequel, which is a time when most book series take a nosedive. But I can honestly say enjoyed this one as much as the first.
Still, the customary YA angst started to rear its ugly head. It managed not to be too tiring, though.
The mythology starts to take all kinds of convenient turns. Wish it had been kept simple.

WHOAAA...HOLY ALIEN BABIES EVERYWHERE!!!
All the feelings this book gives me.. It's just so overwhelming!
I LOVED obsidian, but this book is just.. just..it's just AMAZING.
I love it when a serie has such a Great first book like obsidian,
but I love it even better when it has a second book to follow up like onyx.

One moment You're happy and before you know it .. BAM...
it hit's you in the face out of nowhere and you're crying and totally heartbroken.
On and on this goes further.. What an emotional roller coaster!

But hey, even if it hurts like hell, this is why I Love Reading.
This is how every reader should experience reading a Amazing book.

Okay, some things I saw coming; some characters which I didn't trust who turned out to be really complete A-holes as expected.
But in-spite of that, the story itself keeps blowing me away and keeps surprising me after every page I flip.
The dialogues are so much fun reading and I love the action in these books. The characters are just Amazing and so lovable.
You really don't know what will hit you when you're flipping to the next page, just anything could happen.
And the Ending of this book.. Soo much mixed feelings. Tears of Joy and tears of Sadness at the same time.

This book hurts like hell. Just so you know haha
But all the pain is WORTH it

Can't wait to see what's going to happen in Opal, book 3
