For those new to tarot this would be better as a physical book than audio as you could refer back to it. For more experienced readers the audio book was an enjoyable refresher (although I wish they'd got Melissa herself to read it).
This book has an informal, chatty style. She interprets the Rider Waite Smith images in a fresh, accessible way using modern scenarios to exemplify the meanings. She also includes discussion of what's happening when she reads, being a professional reader and ethics. As a beginner, I wouldn't make this your only tarot book and i didn't agree with all her card interpretations, but for anyone with an interest in tarot this is a worthwhile read.

Honestly so good that I bought myself a paperback copy before I even finished the audiobook. The descriptions of the cards were so relatable and easy to understand. I think this will be a great reference to keep on hand as I'm learning.

A very, very basic book. I don't particularly agree with a lot of the inverted meanings the author gives, and most of the cards are a page at best for the upright meaning, and 2-3 paragraphs for the inverted.
Outside of card meanings, not much time is given to anything else regarding tarot. The beginner spreads she gives are incredibly common (one card, past present future, celtic cross, and six cards). I'm sure you can find this information online. Hell, you can probably find more information online than what's in this book.

Great intro to tarot. Need to go back to it as I explore more and get a deck. Appreciated the no bs beginners approach

The informal writing style was accessible and truly felt like sitting around a kitchen table with Melissa. The book itself serves as an excellent resource and points toward other resources as well. Excellent.
