O começo do livro prometia..

A quick read action filled thriller with twists to keeps you guessing.
Not a single likeable character but still an enjoyable book despite the rather crazy gross scene in the middle. My first Jo Nesbo book and I look forward to reading some more.

A very exciting book, with a surprising turn in the end. Doesn't last very long though.

Not as good as his Harry Hole series, but abgood thriller with a twist.

currently reading a precious signed copy lent to me by a deear friend after a mutual encounter with Nesbo at the 2012 Adelaide Writers' Week - so far, so Nesbo! Finished last night - truly unputdownable, getting inside a killer's head in a compelling way and with one of the best twists at the end since Christie's Roger Ackroyd.

Characters were flat and story was pretty boring. Also, the way minorities were mentioned - the only times they were mentioned - bothered me a lot.

If you have a chance to be reincarnated as a fictional character, sweet Jesus don't opt to be a protagonist in a Jo Nesbo novel. Every book seems to take Nietzsche's proclamation that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger and respond with "Oh, yeah? Try this!" This twisty noir novel exists in a bleaker Oslo than the Harry Hole novels, if that can be imagined. It's like a case Hole might be involved with, told from the perspective of the criminal. I prefer the Hole books, where our hero may be flawed, but his moral core is intact underneath the much. Nevertheless, this is still a darkly breezy entertainment.

While this may not be the best read for a book club, our group still managed to find plenty of things to discuss.
This is a quick and enjoyable read with a decent payoff. It is a mystery by a Norwegian author who is pretty popular in Europe, and starting to be more popular here in the States.
Liked the writing style a lot, and the mystery inspired the brain to work a little harder (but not much).
Overall a good, quick, gritty read.
